A wealthy businessman beat and choked his wife to death, and left her body inside her car at the PNC Bank Arts Center, authorities said.
George Calleia, 43, was arrested Sunday and charged with murdering his wife, Susan, also 43. The couple had been married for 13 years.
Calleia called 911 Friday morning to report his wife and her vehicle missing at about 6:15 a.m., Monmouth County Prosecutor Luis Valentin said.
Shortly before noon on Saturday, her vehicle was located in a remote parking area of the PNC Bank Arts Center, which is near where the couple lived. Her body was found inside the vehicle.
An autopsy conducted Sunday determined she died from a combination of multiple blunt force trauma, and strangulation, Valentin said.
Calleia, who works as director of sales and marketing at a financial services firm, was being held on $3 million bail at the Monmouth County Jail, in Freehold. He faces 30 years to life in prison if convicted.

Works in finance
In September, George Calleia began working for Shadow Financial Services Co. of Edison, where he was senior vice president and director of sales and marketing. The company provides software for financial companies.
A spokeswoman for Shadow Financial said the company would not comment.
Calleia's role at the company, located at Raritan Plaza II in Edison, is "driving revenue, increasing market awareness and securing collaborative partnerships," according to a company news release posted Sept. 6 on PRNewswire.
When Calleia joined the company, Chief Executive Officer Donald Marino said the company was "thrilled" to welcome its new hire.
"George has a proven track record of increasing revenue, securing strategic partnerships, and building sales and customer support teams," Marino said.
Calleia started his career at Bache & Co., which was acquired by The Prudential Insurance Co. in 1981 and later became Prudential Securities, according to the news release. He was also a senior vice president at Wexford Clearing Services, a subsidiary of Prudential Securities, where he was responsible for marketing, sales and business development as a senior vice president and regional sales manager.

Will Greta be on the case?
He's now worthless....Grt rid of him.
I couldn't help but notice in the articles, no mention of death penalty.
Too many men murder their wives. Don't they realize that a divorce would be so much better for them??
Ok, other than this one small 'icident', was it a happy marriage? :)
Please explain a thread about this on this site. Somehow I missed the connection between it and conservatism and activism.
What are you talking about?
Without a fair trial?
Afterwards...
Rape, murder and mayhem sells.
Calleia is a friend of Corzine and Karl Rove had the wife killed with "evidence" pointing directly to the husband. Found on the victim's person were photos of Corzine and Calleia in, shall we say, an entanglement.
Oh. I didn't know that FR paid for well attended threads. :^}
I noticed that as well. I guess life is cheap in NJ.
Sex, murder etc keeps those with short attention spans occupied between occasional bursts of intelligent thinking.
While I don't advocate men murdering their wives at all, I do think it would help if the law really did make it a clearly superior option. Judging from the experiences of a friend and various people here on Free Republic, divorce seems to be a life destroying experience for a lot of men.
Now I know why I stopped by.
I live in New Jersey, and there is no way I would ever invest my money with an outfit called "Shadow Financial Services Co." WTF
ROFL!
Even 'First Clearing', name gives the impression of 'clearing out your bank account.
