Air America: Al's quiet on the eastern front

If a liberal tree falls in the forest, is anybody listening (other than the environmental activist who's chained to it)?
First off, I have to admit to being wrong. When the idea for Air America was announced, I was skeptical that it would make it a year and a half, as it has. But, then again, a decade ago, who would have guessed that Bill and Hillary would ever stay together long enough to celebrate their 30th anniversary, as they did earlier this month?
One of the goals of Air America, since its inception, was to be an entertaining liberal alternative to all the conservative radio out there. This would be accomplished by engaging personalities, news and, most importantly, humor. So far the jokes have been flying, but in many cases you have to wait until the ratings books come out for the punchlines.

I didnt think Air America would last long either, and it wouldn't have if they hadn't infused it with money stolen from kids.
To: JRios1968
It only made it a year and a half because they stole money from the boys and girls clubs to pay Al Franken's salary.

The new radio ratings book is in, and in the nation's capital, Washington, D.C., Air America has no measurable audience. It hasn't been this bad since Phil Donohue's show on MSNBC was beaten in the ratings by a test pattern on Channel 371.
Liberal radio's inability to find an audience in D.C. is like a fox going into the henhouse and still coming out hungry. In New York City, the fox emerges with an appetizer, but not the full course meal you'd expect from a city as liberal as the Big Apple.
Pretty sad.
Are taxpayers subsidizing this crap too?

"Air America's ratings prove that liberals need to stick to what they're good at, which is ... well, not non-federally funded radio." actually they're quite good at theft and deception which describes npr precisely.

The most powerful radio station in our area added Air America recently. Known for their conservative shows, this was a surprise. I can't listen to it for more than a minute or two without getting so angry!

Are taxpayers subsidizing this crap too? No, but I'm sure the left will give that a try.
Their celebrations about one demographic "victory" in one market sure doesn't fool the advertisers. They're staying away in droves. I read where at trade shows where the advertisers meet the people selling the airtime, AA is a joke. But worse than that for them, a bad investment with no return in the near or far future.
To: nmh
Sorry. My mistake. The answer to the question "Are taxpayers subsidizing this crap too?" is sort of. The money stolen from the Gloria Wise Boys and Girls Clubs was given to the club from federal grant dollars. The Club lent AA the money, possibly violating some laws loaning out the money to anybody. So the taxpayers did indirectly subsidize AA.

And .. Al is making his usual inflamatory statements .. such as Rove and Libby are going to be executed for treason for outing a CIA agent - which is treason.
Is he really that stupid ..?? The answer is YES!

Just like Air America. I tried to listen to Al Frankenface once......worst 15 seconds of my life.... How many times can Alfranken say 'RushLimbaugh' in fifteen seconds? Name-dropping/bashing is more than half of his show; probably got a few in, while you were listening.
Thankfully, if not gleefully. . .Rush never mentions his.

Maybe they'll put Howard Stern on it. I hear he still kind of has an audience?

I hope it isn't 580AM! I get the signal here, and it's some of the best talk radio, but I haven't been able to check it lately!

I live in a very rural area where everyone is heavily armed. None of the stations around here would dare put that garbage on the air.
