Following a fierce investigation, two suspects have been arrested in connection to a bomb scare in Marshall County.
After the Kingston police found two homemade bombs within blocks of each other yesterday, authorities say a total of 28 bombs were recovered.
Friday morning near the corner of Second and Chickasaw, Kingston police and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol bomb squad diffused two homemade bombs found in mailboxes.
A U.S. Postal worker noticed a yellow liquid oozing from one of the boxes and then notified authorities.
Today, police tell KTEN they found several more explosive devices at a house on the 500 block of Sterling Street in Kingston, more bombs at a residence along highway 70A and even a few others at another home in Marshall County. A number of the bombs were active and had to be diffused.
Police arrested 18 year-olds Joseph Norris and Jesse turner and say they admitted to making the bombs. The two are currently in the Marshall county jail.
The Marshall County sheriff, the U.S. Postal Service and the OHP bomb squad continue to investigate this situation.
That must've been scary for you, I'm glad everything turned out alright. You know it's one thing for kids interested in explosives to screw around in a deserted area far away from people - a completely different thing to place these devices in a mailbox, or in a public area... Considering the amount of bombs found that these kids had made I'm glad they found them so quickly, and before someone got physically injured.
Interesting... you never know, I guess. Perhaps that's why they found them so quickly?
LOL... yeah, I'm sure the bomb squad normally just scatters around live bombs! Good catch! (o:
All the reports on green liquid leaking, reminds me of the soft drink can on/near the ATM in the N.Y. Subway shut down a few days ago, it was said to have a green liquid in it.
Wasn't it Drano? It was a lye product.
And do you recall the college student who tried to give a message by traveling around the mid-west putting bombs in mailboxes? It was about 2 years ago.

If I wrote the above, it would read.
Must be because of Global Warning.
Perhaps either spelling was correct. It would pass the spell checker, but in the case of "neutralizing" an acid bomb, diffused is correct, as the HCl would be poured into water, diluting and diffusing it.
Diffused is correct, as in dilute. The HCl would be poured into a large container of water to partially neutralize it.
Is that the one that was placing the bombs to make a big happy face pattern?
IMHO defuse would've been more accurate in this particular case.
Just for the record on this particular homonym
American Heritage Dictionary:
dif·fuse Audio pronunciation of "diffuse" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (d-fyz)
v. dif·fused, dif·fus·ing, dif·fus·es
v. tr.
1. To pour out and cause to spread freely.
2. To spread about or scatter; disseminate.
3. To make less brilliant; soften.
de·fuse Audio pronunciation of "defuse" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (d-fyz)
tr.v. de·fused, de·fus·ing, de·fus·es
1. To remove the fuse from (an explosive device).
2. To make less dangerous, tense, or hostile: a diplomatic move that defused the international crisis
> ... in the case of "neutralizing" an acid bomb,
> diffused is correct, as the HCl would be poured
> into water, diluting and diffusing it.
But if the bomb contains a triggering device,
generically known as a "fuse", then the priority
is defusing.
I still bet they meant "defuse". If the scribbler
had meant "diffuse", my guess is they would have
said "dilute" instead.
We don't have enough detail to know. We do know
enough about legacy media to not grant them the
benefit of the doubt when competence is the question.
Typos are not our friend. Thanks.
That was the idiot making a smiley face on the map with them. Then there's those who think it hilarious to put rattlesnakes in mailboxes. The worst thing is, getting the mail is usually a kid chore.
Thanks for the ping.
You're welcome. (o:
Yes, you are correct.
Of course, rattlesnakes can get you a prison term.
As they should.
The world is a sick place today.
Yes, the bomber that was making the smiley faces.

Smiling, as I admit that I hold the record for typos, that was not what I had meant to change, but rather the word
"Warming" to my version using "Warning".
Not important of course, but I hate the typo warnings, most of us should be able to guess at what was said, even with my spelling.......
LOL
Dont want to chuckle out loud at this one, BUT can't help it. The police told residents not to *reach* into their mailboxes, but to *look* into them first.
I'm reminded of people who light a match to see how much gasoline is left in the tank. I can just see someone leaning down and peering into the mailbox, their face thisclose to it.
