Two recent Oregon Supreme Court cases demonstrate the American Civil Liberties Union's commitment to the pornography industry, claims an internationally respected expert and Justice Department consultant on the subject.
According to Judith Reisman Ph.D., the cases State of Oregon v. Ciancanelli and City of Nyssa v. Dufloth/Smith demonstrate that the ACLU will defend the most extreme elements of a business that now, as these cases show, includes "live sex shows."
Late last month, the Oregon Supreme Court struck down a state law banning live sex shows as well as an ordinance that regulated the conduct of nude dancers. In two 5-1 decisions, the court ruled that both laws violated the rights to freedom of speech and expression found in the state's constitution, adopted in 1859. The lone dissenter in both cases, Justice Paul De Muniz, could not concur with the five other justices in viewing "masturbation and sexual intercourse in a 'live public show'" as a form of speech provided for in the Oregon Constitution. In both cases, the Oregon chapter of the ACLU filed an amicus curiae supporting the right of the strip club owners to facilitate sexual contact between consenting adults.
Previously, the ACLU has defended child pornography. In a quietly prosecuted case in 1981, People v. Ferber, the ACLU won a 5-2 decision in the New York Court of Appeals that for a short time "legalized simulated intercourse, real intercourse, lewd conduct ... with children," says Reisman, author of the soon-to-be-released, "Kinsey's Attic: How One Man's Psychopathology Changed the World." Fortunately, says Reisman, the Ferber case was later appealed by the New York attorney general and ultimately reversed by the U.S. Supreme Court. The Oregon cases, like Ferber, just demonstrate how far the ACLU will go in defending pornographers, adds Reisman.

ACLU also goes into frenzy over religion - they sure hate prayer of any kind and the Ten Commandments.

EXCLUSIVE ACLU AREA IN HELL NEARLY COMPLETE
Preparations for an ACLU-only area in Hell are nearly complete, underground construction sources said yesterday. The area, more than 3 square miles of "hotter than usual" turf, will hold members of the American Civil Liberties Union, an organization whose sole objective has become the elimination of Christmas.
"There's a mini-volcano there burping up hot lava and everything," said an anonymous representative of Otherwordly Construction, Inc. The company recently sold its soul to the devil for the exclusive, no-bid offer of expanding Hell. A feature story in an upcoming issue of Architectural Digest will reveal the exclusive area of Hell for ACLU members.
The construction project is believed to be the first known addition to Hell since the 1940s, when Nazi and Japanese war criminals headed for their eternal damnation en masse. An anonymous spokesman for the construction company worried that "Hell may too good for these folks. When they move down here property values are just going to hit rock bottom. And when their neighbors find out 40,000 lawyers are living next door, this place is really going to explode. It's going to get pretty hot, let me tell you."
Analysts estimate the ACLU expansion of Hell increases 10 square feet for every nativity scene protested and 5 square feet for every time someone is forced to say "Happy Winter Solstice" instead of "Merry Christmas."
ACLU members working on removing "God" from the Pledge of Allegiance and U.S. coinage can expect their own separate inferno.
Otherworldly Construction says their next project will be the judges' condominium, Endless Torment Terrace. Nothing special, according to the builders, just the regulation fiery pit accomodations.
bump
The ACLU has always been abuser-protective......!
Thanks for the link I was wondering if there was an agency that has a campiagn against the ACLU.
How about this scenario: For a hundred bucks you can enroll in our "acting class". You can even perform in one of our "plays". If you are the shy type, we have "modern operas", but you will have to wear a mask.
Nope! Came across it here on FR and saved it off for later use.
May the "God of all flesh" reward the organization as a whole and its' individual membership accordingly.
AND WE DO LITTLE OR NOTHING TO STOP THEM.
"Say someone hires two hookers to have sex with each other.
Is that prostitution or art?
There used to be a time when the feminist crowd was against porn...until Larry Flynt came to the defense of the sexual harasser and rapist.
