Thank you. I got it now. I was reading the script from the thomas.loc.gov server and didn't realize it was divided into 4 separate files.

This appears to be a bad transcript, with several duplicated paragraphs.

Bookmarked, thank you VERY much!

I caught most of it on CSPAN, and agree with those who say the transcript doesn't portray his raw, yet real emotion in this speech, but it's a worthy read for everyone.

Why aren't there headlines CONSTANTLY reporting this story?

I know you asked that tongue in cheek cause you know they are holding their headlines for the DeLay, Rove, and Libby perp walks.

This thing is sickening. I know a widow of the USS Cole and she was furious at the Clinton administration back then. I haven't spoke with her in some time but I can well imagine what she is feeling now.

Thanks for posting.

IF left up to the MSM, this will get just about as much attention as our recent success in Iraq: Zero.

Now, Mr. Speaker, I sat here in the 1990s and I sat here during the 9/11 investigation and watched a ridiculous situation develop with Sandy Berger, the National Security Adviser under President Clinton. He walked into the National Archives before he was to testify before the 9/11 Commission looking through documents. He took documents out of the archives and stuffed them in his socks and pants so that no one would see them as he left the National Archives. Now, that is a felony, tampering with Federal documents and removing classified information regarding our security and information that the 9/11 commission needed to see.

"Sandy Berger initially lied about it. He said he did not do it. Then he admitted it, and he was given a punishment. And, oh, by the way, his security clearance was temporarily lifted, but he will get it back again, for lying, for stealing, and for committing an act of outrage against our country's security. Lieutenant Colonel Shaffer, a Bronze Star 23-year military veteran, simply told the truth and now his life is being ruined."

Uh Huh, what he said. Being from Pa., I've written to Specter and Santorum. Got to keep those letters coming. Amazing that his hasn't gottent the visibility of a DeLay indictment or Rove speculation .

By the way, did the 9/11 coverup commission follow up ever get rescheduled?

That link is only to a short segment of the speech.

Maybe CSPAN will archive the whole speech. CSPAN did archive his Sept speech that was 2.5 hours long.

9/11 panel to single out FBI

The members of the Sept. 11 commission will sharply criticize the Bush administration and Congress this week in a privately financed report expected to single out the FBI as having failed to act on many of the panel's recommendations to protect the nation from terrorist attack, members of the bipartisan panel and its staff said.

They said the report, scheduled for release on Thursday by a private educational group created by the 10 former commissioners, will also criticize the White House for not doing enough to defend civil liberties and privacy rights as it expanded the government's surveillance powers after the Sept. 11 terror attacks. A civil liberties oversight board created by the White House earlier this year is toothless and underfinanced, some of the commissioners said.

I listened to Michael Savage's interview with Congressman Weldon last night and to some of the (taped) live feed from the floor of Congress.

It was inspirational, but sad to realize how rare Weldon's integrity is.
