"The reason I was willingly extorted is because I'll wear it in Florida when I return. My neighborhood is full of transplanted NYC and New Joisey liberals who think the Yankees are the only team in the world.

If the White Sox win, I'll flauntingly wear this cap in front of them all......in the streets, on the beaches, in the Publix, in the mall.....and I'll even wear it to church on Sunday with my new black cleats with extra-long white laces."

Now THAT's what I love about the midwest!

I'm from St. Lou. I'm lovin' this series!

Congratulations Astros. See you in Chicago for Saturday's spanking.

This is a nightmare for MLB and the networks.

Fox is still introducing themselves to the Astros. In last year's playoffs they had the WRONG batting helmet on the pre-game show set. They still had the navy one with the gold star. Freakin' amateurs.

At least they finally found a broadcast crew that didn't say Craig "Bee-gio" (it's Bidge-io) and Roy "Ozz-walt" (it's Ose-walt). Dang. One's going to the Hall of Fame and the other is the only two-time 20-game winner for 2004 and 2005 and these Yankee suckups can't even say their names right.

Bring back Curt Gowdy and NBC.

I just watched the end of the local coverage in St. Louis. There are still about 2500 in Busch stadium, and they are coaxing out the Cardinal players still.

Larry Walker, who is most likely retiring, was tearing up at the fans response. I'm watching David Eckstein saying that the Astros just outplayed us.

Now, Albert Pulhos is being interviewed.

Throwing 94 MPH in the 9th inning at age 42. He was/is "a serious Texas guy."

As much as I hated the loss Monday, it was kind of nice for your fans to see one more game there at the stadium......

Whats happened to Houston is also happening to Florida. You're jumping out of the frying pan into the fire.

Actually, that is a pretty good prediction. The Sox do have a heck of a bullpen and enough offense to get it done.

But I also stand behind my prediction on the ratings. For both of us, time will tell.

Couldn't call it a night without posting to this historical thread on a history making night. I've followed the Astros for 28yrs. . . . a lot of frustration (coupled with the Oilers) tonight feels just like the night the Rockets beat the Nicks for the NBA Championship. HOOOOOO-YAAAAAAA! We're going to the World Series!

One night I saw Sonny Jackson hit an inside the park homerun, a baseball memory I'll never forget.

I saw him jump straight up 5 or 6 feet to snag a line drive.....still have yet to see another human jump so high!!!

I get to go to a World Serious game....and the 'stros are in it, a baseball memory I'll never forget!

5 or 6 feet.......OK....I was a little kid.....still, never seen it repeated

Ok, here's a question for everyone...

What always comes in pairs? Socks...
Red Sox one year
White Sox the next

Now why couldn't I think of that BEFORE the season started, whenI could get some decent action in Vegas.....

I am very thrilled to have a World Series for the first time in the state of Texas!

As many times as we've had to play Houston in the playoffs, I was shocked to learn that stat!
