Rep Weldon to give major House Floor speech on Able Danger momentarily; ON CSPAN NOW
CSPAN ^ | October 19, 2005

Posted on 10/19/2005 4:59:18 PM PDT by TomGuy

Rep. Kirt Weldon is on Michael Savage's radio program, and he is implying Rumsfeld is the one blocking further investigation into Able Danger.

Weldon is fuming; says he personally (in a committee hearing) asked Rumsfeld about the investigation being blocked. Rumsfeld replied that he would 'get back to Weldon with a response.' Weldon says he still has gotten nothing from Rumsfeld.

Weldon to give a speech in a few moments this evening on the floor of the House. It should be aired on CSPAN this evening.

Your work is VERY much appreciated vadkins... THANK YOU!

Ping... Vadkins has a transcript of Weldon's speech yesterday re: Able Danger.
See this link: http://qtmonster.typepad.com/qt_monsters_place/2005/10/curt_weldontran.html

(After briefly skimming the messages on this thread and with all this talk referring to Atta and information on terrorists and such I wonder if there is any connection between this and the FBIs insistence that they have found no link to terrorist organizations RE: Hinrichs and the OU Bombing in Norman, OK? Seems _ultimately_ it might all go back to OKC and the FBI and other agencies not following up on and the OK FBI agency refusing to accept gathered information regarding information from over 60 sworn witness statements speaking to Islamic terrorist connections... I'm coming into the able danger stuff late though, so I may be wrong, but it all sounds so familiar...)

Sometimes knowing the truth, simply possessing the knowledge is the desired result.

I think back to the 60's; Viet Nam, Pentagon Papers, Watergate, Deep Throat, Kent State, The Underground Groups such as Students for A Democratric Society and the Weathermen [nothing more than Domestic Terrorist Groups]

The common theme was what is the government hiding from us? Many of those on the dem side of the aisle started in the the anti-American movement of those days. They came to power because of the perception that our government was one big cover up operation.

I do not know why there is an effort to bury Able Danger. National Security or a desire to hide from us how truly inept the system was because of red tape.

If National Security-tell us. Simply say We are aware of the issues, we are investigating, but for reasons of National Security there are some things which cannot be made public.

If it is a screw-up issue, tell us. "It was lost in the beauracratic shuiffle. we have taken and will continue to make changes to reduce the chances of this happening again."

Trying to bury this issue gives us the impression that proecting those in power then and those in power now is the order of the day. Trying to bury the truth makes me ask "What else is the government hiding?" And then I think of the mindset of the 60's.

The bombing of the USS Cole had as much of an effect on me as 9/11. This one picture represents all of the emotion I have from that incident and 9/11

From the article: http://www.geocities.com/cgunn2000/final.htm

Go here: http://www.arlingtoncemetery.net/clgunn.htm See this:

If it is true, we knew of the plans to bomb the Cole, Seaman's Gunn death was in vain, the tears shed by his father were for NOTHING. If we knew of the plans to bomb the Cole two weeks in advance, those who are trying to bury this story, to keep it in the dark are protecting those involved the same as if they were protecting bin laden.

Let the light in. Truth for truth's sake is never a what-then issue.

I know that some have tried to get this topic covered by talk show hosts, to no avail.

Gorelick was there to make sure that the information garnered by Able Danger never got to the FBI.

She didn't want the FBI and the CIA talking to each other, sharing information.

No explanation was given. Sean was about to introduce Dick Morris to talk about his book and there was no further mention of Freeh.

Yesterday Sean was chatting up Ollie North and it was Ollie that brought up Freeh. They had a short conversation but I don't think Able Danger was brought up in that short conversation.

If I remember correctly, there was some comment that the data mining process was ended for political reasons.

I just can't remember. I believe it was Weldon's committee that gave permission for data mining in the first place.

Archive of Weldon's speech 10-19-05 is not on CSPAN (yet), but an archive (RealPlayer) of Weldon's 9-21-05 speech is:

Senate Judiciary Cmte. Hearing on Able Danger and Intelligence Sharing

Rep. Curt Weldon (R-PA) testifies on Able Danger, a secret Pentagon Intelligence unit, during a Senate Judiciary Cmte. hearing on intelligence sharing. Rep. Weldon recently issued a statement critical of the Pentagon for not sharing intelligence gathered by Able Danger, which also issued warnings about al Queda threats shortly before the Oct. 12, 2000 Cole Bombing.

It's all about Gorelick's Wall and the funny money from the Chinese, imo. They needed to keep law enforcement away from intelligence people............ and they did.

And by the tears on my cheeks and the stain on a blue dress he is right. And YOU know it.

I despise that "politically infirm" term you used. It's heartless. Like Clinton was. All dick and no heart.

So, the SBVs didn't stay together to put out fires? I think some of them are freepers.

The only fires they are putting out are the lawsuits filed against them by the Kerry campaign. They have been asking for donations to pay their legal bills.

I said: "If DOD is behind all this crap, then RUMSFELD has got to GO!!! He'd better answer to all this crap, or else I want to hear what any defender has to say about this!!!"

You said: "Why Rumsfeld? He's not responsible for the Clinton left-overs who are probably doing this stuff on the sly."

I agree, Rumsfeld is NOT responsible for the Clinton left-overs, but he IS responsible for the people WHO ARE NOW trying to COVERUP this crap. So, he's either not in-control of his DOD, or if he IS in-control, then tell me why....?

Several points: many government officials knew about the Iraqi bombing in OKC in 1995 IN ADVANCE;
Bill Clinton scheduled his August, 1998 testimony in July, 1998, before Islamic terrorists bombed three American embassies in Africa; somehow, his testimony was on the same day that we bombed the pharmaceutical factory in Sudan and empty tents in Afghanistan; given Clinton's penchant for timing...;
Government officials knew about the planned attack on the USS Cole IN ADVANCE;
Intelligence officials knew about Mr. Atta as a member of a terrorist cell for a year before Bill Maher got Barbara Olson to board Flight 77 9/11/2001.
Tom Daschle was talking of a Presidential run in 2001 before receiving anthrax; The Globe photo editor, was ran many photos sharply critical of Bill and Hitlery, was one of how many in the U.S. to die of anthrax.
I don't think it is incompetence on the Clintons we are talking about here.
A project like Able Danger would not be abandoned; it is far too useful. To the Clintons, such a project could be used to identify political enemies, to find out who in the U.S. is involved in drug-running (probably more money there than even selling nuke technology to the Chinese military), etc.

The existence of the database must be denied, because if you put a search engine on a big enough database, you'd find even more connections than the 1204 raw FBI files (that was the final count) of high-powered Republicans.

Speaking of search engines and their evils, if you want to become seriously nauseated, run a search on Barbara Olson 9/11. The first *true* story has the web address pravda.ru - I kid you not!
