Rep. Kirt Weldon is on Michael Savage's radio program, and he is implying Rumsfeld is the one blocking further investigation into Able Danger.
Weldon is fuming; says he personally (in a committee hearing) asked Rumsfeld about the investigation being blocked. Rumsfeld replied that he would 'get back to Weldon with a response.' Weldon says he still has gotten nothing from Rumsfeld.
Weldon to give a speech in a few moments this evening on the floor of the House. It should be aired on CSPAN this evening.
>>>A simple phone call would have sufficed.
That is not how intel works.
>>>Weldon apparently got no response,
THAT is how intel works.
Info goes up. No follow ups or acknowledgements come down.
I'm not condoning it. I'm not saying I'm happy with it.
BUT, that IS how intel works.
"Better to mail letter or postcard, even better if hand written."
Best is phone calls, according to a real politico type I know. I've seen evidence in the papers of this--they track phone calls.
AND, you keep your enemies close.
I have often wondered why they tried to justify the Iraq invasion with that silly vial of anthrax instead of pointing to Iraq's history of terrorist ops and funding. OKC was a perfect justification, as was Salman Pak and his numerous ties to Al Queda.
We need to know the truth NOW!!
Hopefully it's locked up tight.
I long for the day the N.E. goes red.
You are correct, this information must get out.
Savage is on it, that will cover a lot of the country, we
all need to spread Congressman weldon's words.
Why can't freepers take the info from todays broadcast and call the talk shows, as the liberal's do?
Make it our talking point of the day/week/month/year if needed.
It's not intel, it's simple communication. A phone call from the Pentagon to the Capitol, or a courier, or any manner of acknowledgement would have worked.
"Hey, Curt, calm down- the Saddam trial will frame the Able Danger info perfectly- give it 2 weeks."
Not a big deal. Instead, Curt felt justified in saying what he said tonight, an implication that the present group in DOD, not Clinton holdovers, are responsible for quashing this.
Drudge is either at the bathhouse or dance club tonight-absolutely nothing on Weldon's bombshell about the USS COLE.
Remember all those threads early on in the Iraqi Operation Freedom?
MadIvan started most of those threads. He posted all these findings of boxes of files with people that were paid off, trucks of conterfeit money, I don't even remember what else.
We never heard about it again.
It was stated a number of times in those articles that all this info would be laid out.
I wonder if that is what is coming with the Saddam Trial.
Then, the info could continue on to Able Danger.

This is exactly where W needs to step up to the plate, be a big boy and demand an investigation.
To me, the issue is whether we're going to let CIA and DIA incompetents run American foreign policy or are we going to use useful tools like Able Danger to defend the American public. Shouldn't be a hard choice.
Didn't he also say there would be some big news about bubba beaking soon?
Savage has been on the Able Danger story from the beginning.
In fact he may have been the first to have Schaeffer on, and he has had Congressman Weldon on several times.
I hope he does start raising funds for both of them.
Savage was hot tonight, listening to the Congressman, it was what turns Savage on.
Hey gal! Stunning isn't it! Now we know why Gorelick was really on the commission. She was there for one purpose - to hide Able Danger and excuse the Clinton admin from fault.
"I heard the Hillary has 154 people on her Senate staff."
I don't think 1,540 would save her now.
You can fool all of the people some of the time....
Actually, we can thank Tony....but it was Freepers like Mo1 and others that watch C-span and the Senate that noticed that some Senators, Dorgan is one, that were trying to get this report about the IRS abuses, BURIED, and never, ever brought out...
The Senate didn't even VOTE on it...just added it to another bill...but some freepers noticed and told Tony and others about it...
Long story short...it was taken OFF the bill and is now due to be released soon.
