TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Police used tear gas to break up a rock-throwing crowd that had gathered to protest a planned march Saturday by the National Socialist Movement.
At least two dozen members of a Roanoke, Va.-based group that calls itself "America's Nazi Party" had gathered at Wilson Park just before noon and were to march under police protection.

... or inform everyone not to show up...a bunch of nazi morons preaching to themselves in an open air setting would probably get them the attention they deserve, which is none. It's too bad the million madman march isn't being ignored; I've heard some of the ranting involved there is of a similar vein, that is hate. Which, according to the last time I read any of Jesus' messages is the opposite thereof...but then again, I profess to be a Christian so I guess we don't count in a socialist utopia whether it's nazi, communist or otherwise?

Toledo police canceled a planned Nazi rally through North Toledo today before it even started because of disturbances among protestors along the route. Police Chief Mike Navarre said about six arrests have been made, several vehicles — including a police car — have been damaged but no injuries have been reported.
Police used tear gas to control crowds where rocks were being thrown. Major disturbances among African-American protestors still were occurring in the area of Central Avenue and Mulberry Street as of the time....(excerpted)

Things are appearing to calm down now....lots of arrests, but no major offsensive action recently.

Watching FNC, a local reporter said the nazis left as soon as the violence started! All this footage is of "kids/gang-bangers" who are wreaking havoc everywhere: busting down fences, breaking windows, "LOOTING", etc. Five hours of this. Unbelievable.

yes...been following it since 11AM this morning. The crap really hit the fan a little before 12 when a TPD unit was attacked with rocks and they lost control of the crowd..
Tom Metzger's WAR movement promotes Nazi ideals. He was found guilty of inciting the murder of an Ethiopian man in the Pac Northwest. He had the right, apparently to say what he believes. Someone acts on those beliefs and that is a crime? It should be a crime to begin with. But we protect it under the banner of the First Amendment.
This is totally irrational and illogical.
