During the 11:00 p.m. (CST) newsbreak, Donna Fuducia reported that Karl Rove told James Dobson that 80% of the potential SCOTUS nominees on the President's list declined his offer because of they didn't want to undergo the grueling confirmation process. Perhaps this sheds new light on the reason why W chose Miers.
I have only gone on maybe 8 threads since this started, and after reading some of this horrible stuff about a decent christian lady, I got sick. I am so heartsick by this behavior, I can never ever forgive those horrible people for the things they said. I though I had accidentally got criss crossed with DU. A lot of the trolls from Du teamed up with the freepers that were in a frenzy of anger and hate and they were working together to slime her and the President. Go through some of the threads and you will see what I mean, but beware you may feel sick enough to throw up.
There is also no guarantee Ginsburg won't show up at the next Supreme Court hearing wearing pink pasties and a tutu. What kind of "guarantee" are you looking for?
Since the goal of the confirmation hearing for the candidate is to reveal as little as possible about oneself in order to get confirmed, and as John Fund has shown with his research Harriet Miers has learned this skill particularly well (the reason so little about her is known), it is doubtful at that time, we will learn much more about her.
Where's the evidence proving the above? Find it and post it.

Can we say the same of Miers?
I have met Ann Coulter in person two years ago and she was delightful, signed my book and was very cute,funny,personable and accomodating. She was also very smart, and she was quick witted and up on everything. She was a star, past tense. Fast forward two years, she is totally the opposite and when she is not screeching and calling George Bush a drunk she is hanging out with Bill maher. she has become a caricature of herself. She sometimes loses her train of thought and then goes off on another rant. This is typical of women in their forties who are chain smokers. It is called early Menopause, and for some it is not pleasant and believe me I know what I am talking about. Any woman that has been through it knows when someone else is going through it. She has gone off the deep end many times lately, and says whatever is on her mind with no tact at all. those that really loved her hope she gets on hormones to break this self destructive behavior. She is an elitist and resents the fact that she busted her butt for a degree at Cornell fighting the commie pinko professors all along the way and she is not a Supreme Ct appointee, she never even practiced law. She appears on Hannity and Colmes and does lectures and writes books. What in the hell good is her degree to her now? Annie we love you, hormones,hormones I say. Mainline them and help us bring the Good Annie back.

You hypocrite. You demand "compelling evidence" to refute your conjectures and assumptions, but rely on a complete lack of evidence to support those assumptions and conjectures.

Give me one item from the resume of Harriet Miers as-or more-impressive than the accomplishments I have just enumerated.

I have heard nobody on the "let her have her hearing side" behave this way. If you do not want to be judged by that crowd of lunatics then tell them to stay away or shut up because you are getting lumped with them. We cannot blame Du for this, they are maybe a quarter of the slimers. I am proud of the Miers "Hearing" crowd,and glad to be linked with them. I love freepers, but cannot stand that fringe element that drags everyone down with them into the gutter.
it is not crude, it is the truth and the woman is suffering and you can hear it in her voice. She needs help, and you do her no favors by telling her she is fine. She is not fine, and she is losing listeners because of her change of personality. I feel bad for her, and I know what it is like to go through Cancer, it is scary and you freak out sometimes, that loving mate is very important to get you through. Her situation is complicated by her ticking biological clock and a very emotional loss. She needs to take time off and get better before she loses all her listeners and gets sicker as a result. I hope you care enough for her to want her to heal.

I have to agree with you here. Ann Coulter's presence these days elicits no excitement or interest from me -- I just change the channel or turn off the t.v.
John Dean was a criminal. And Bill Clinton is a perjurer. But neither the actions of Dean nor Clinton lower the importance of the offices they held. And you asked for only one thing on Miers' resume that was more impressive than what you listed from Coulter. Frankly, that isn't much of a challenge.
