During the 11:00 p.m. (CST) newsbreak, Donna Fuducia reported that Karl Rove told James Dobson that 80% of the potential SCOTUS nominees on the President's list declined his offer because of they didn't want to undergo the grueling confirmation process. Perhaps this sheds new light on the reason why W chose Miers.
I haven't heard any of that garbage.
One thing is certain, once HM takes her place among the brethren and sister, as junior member, she'll be fetching coffee and opening doors for the seniors.
Breyer must be getting a little tired of doing service. Bet he was not so pleased Roberts was elevated to Chief. Meant he still had to fetch the coffee and open the doors.
Gillespie used sexism too.
apparently that defense has been bandied about the White House Meir's war room
which stinks from a "conservative" presidency resorting to identity baiting
and if this "had to be a woman" quota is true...God help us
Right here on FR
LOL...I thought you had gone to bed....I am so busted
LOL! And I love it! I'm so glad the phone rang...lol.
The problem is made worse by the White House's publicity campaign in defence of Miers. Advocates of the appointment have accused critics of "sexism" and "elitism" -- charges that have been echoed by left-wing Democrats like Maryland Senator Barbara Mikulski. There are probably few tactics less likely to impress a conservative audience -- or more likely to convince that audience that Miers is indeed the unqualified crony her critics say she is.
David Frum has it spot-on!
Quagmire.....
No, Laura is undergoing Chemo for breast cancer and getting over her fiance' dumping her when he found out she had cancer. She wanted a loving Husband and children, now her prospects are gone. she should take several months off and try to regain her composure and stop transferring the blame for her failed relationship on the President. It is the scum that ran off on you sweetheart, it is not your fault either. She is not the same Laura and she is losing lot of listeners because she bitches and complains about everything. I feel sorry for her on two counts, but she needs to get professional help and handle her anger better. A little anger is a good thing, she is way beyond overload.
This is my point. The Stealth strategy does not afford us the ammunition to defend our candidate. I do not have all of the information to show that she is an ideological conservative. I have no paper trail to show that she knows Constitutional Law. We hope the confirmation process will reveal enough information to know the answers to all of our questions.
I hope you are smarter than that. Just keep picturing that group photo with no women, and then Picture the Feminazi's beating Bill Frist and Arlen Spector over the head with their (the feminazi's) jock straps. Do you see things clearer now? I thought so.
Too many threads, too little time, (sigh...) Would not mind the ping if you do find those ones - I certainly wouldn't condone people making those kind of accusations.
I still don't understand, however, why samantha chooses to harp on these fringe comments made by very few, and use them as her ammunition against the much larger group of people arguing against her point of view.
IMO - the best thing to do with that stuff is ignore it, and file a mental note (or type one to yourself) that reminds you of the character of the poster.
Dragging it up and rehashing it only encourages more, and it a significant part of the "noise" around here. It adds absolutely nothing of value to FR.
And one does shortchange potentially valuable input if an entire message is diregarded over one (or ten) poorly chosen words. I read posts of Freepers that I have generally low respect for, and often learn from their posting.
I guess you do not like charles Krauthammer.
That's crude of you to bring up Laura's health problems and use them as your ammo against her positions - which are in line with the overwhelming majority of conservative pundits.
Shame on you. Shame, shame, shame.
If conservatives drop this ball, the GOP will lose elections. Conservatives need to lead out front on the filibuster issue to gain credibility on the nominations.
I have a hard time seeing Laura Ingraham, who I respect about as much as anyone, speaking from a position of personal failure while discrediting Bush's GOP. What has she accomplished with regard to the filibuster? Not a damn thing. The beast lives on.
Ashcroft would be an outstanding pick! I am glad someone else acknowledges this man of true conservative principles.
Did you get your degree in a correspondence course, or from the Home Shopping Network?
Me neither - especially since Brown and Owens toughed it out for so long. Even if it is true - what about the other 20%? Even those odds indicate that at least one of Brown, Alito, Luttig, Garza, or Ownes was up to it.
