I sincerely hope he was hanged, not hung.

As the poets have mournfully sung,
Death takes the innocent young,
The rolling-in-money,
The screamingly funny,
And those who are very well hung.

The hanging was delayed several times until lawmen heard rumors that the old gang was going to attempt to free Tom. Therefore, a decision was finally made and the hanging was scheduled on April 26, 1901 at 8:00 a.m.

Thanks again. 1901, it wasn't all that long ago.

One bullet hit Longley in the face and broke a tooth, while another frayed the rope from which he was hanging. The rope weakened with the weight of Longley's body and broke saving his life.

A bad man with amazingly good luck.

The first legal hanging in Minnehaha County, South Dakota took three attempts. The rope broke on the first attempt, on the second attempt the trapdoor failed to open and only on the third attempt was the execution successful. It also turned out the victim, who was accused of bludgeoning his wife to death, was innocent. His daughter later confessed to commiting the crime.

William Preston Longley went by several names during his 27 years as one of the most vicious murderers and racists of the American West.

Who wrote this steaming pile? Can a man be able to read one single solitary damned thing without all the Leftist propaganda sloganeering thrown in?

Have you considered the possibility that he was a racists?
