10/9/2005 John Kerrys Winning Strategy
Go long!
Our friends at Newsmax recently sent out an email alert that deals with, among other issues, a new behind-the-scenes documentary about the 04 Kerry campaign. This film looks hilarious, in large part because it was originally intended to reveal the winning strategy behind Kerrys White House run. Here are some delightful details:
It may surprise you, but both John Kerry and Ted Kennedy believe Kerry is the frontrunner for the Democratic nod in 2008.
If the pair had any prayer of this, their hopes have been dashed with the release of a new documentary film made during John Kerrys presidential campaign. Pundits say it has torpedoed any remaining chance he has of running for the White House again.
Kerry allowed filmmaker Steve Rosenbaum to film the inner workings of the Kerry campaign and what Kerrys team believed would be a victorious run for the presidency.
Hut
Now Rosenbaum has released the documentary, Inside the Bubble - and Democrats are likely to give it a decisive thumbs-down. The film has made such painful viewing that many Democratic insiders - especially those close to rival 2008 candidates - feel Kerrys hopes of the White House have been forever ended, The Guardian newspaper reports.
Unflattering clips from the film show Kerry pretending to interview himself, and babbling in Italian as he waited for a real interview to begin. Senior aides are shown cursing and shouting at reporters. One shot shows Hillary Clinton rolling her eyes after Kerry slips up during a TV debate against George Bush.
In a bizarre moment, top Kerry aide Jim Loftus rants about an advance teams inability to get a pony into a hotel room for a birthday celebration. He fumes: When I was an advance guy, if someone said get a pony on the 10th floor of this hotel in four hours I would have said: What color eyes should it have?
He rolls out of the pocket On election day, as early exit polls pointed to a Kerry victory, Loftus hands over the data and remarks: They have a word for that, and they usually write it in big black print on the front of newspapers and they call it a (expletive deleted) landslide. Another aide comments: I hear they are crying in the White House.
Bush went on to win by three million votes.
The Guardian states: There is little doubt that many Democrats (or many potential Democratic voters) will watch the film in horror. The impression is of a campaign and a candidate who did not really know where it was going or trying to say.
Naturally Im curious about the pony Kerry needed for his birthday party. Did Theresa know about this?
"Nothing. It's largely true..."
I want to see this! I hope it comes out on DVD ASAP.
Anyone still have the "balloons at the Dem convention" clip? Loved that one.
"Unflattering clips from the film show Kerry pretending to interview himself..."
Too funny! Maybe that explains his flip-flop problem.

Welcome to FR
Oh, thanks. Love it here.
Is the film already out?
If it is out does anyone know where it is playing.
Didn't see anything, just heard it. I haven't seen this footage.
The funny thing is, Democrats had been preparing for this for four years, and they still had no clue what they were doing. What a bunch of buffoons.
LOL, the title itself is hilarious!
Loved the pictures on the site, all of which I've seen as "Caption This" threads here on FR! They should have also had the big blue condom picture of Kerry the day he visited NASA, too, though!

You owe me one.
bttt
It was audio that was picked up by CNN when they were doing the big balloon drop during the Democrat convention. Major snafu. I think I even got to hear it live, although I didn't have cable at the time.
Tee-hee, me too, and apparently we can throw the Gore-on into the equation, too! There's a whole lotta "love" between the Clintons and Gore, ya know.
