You pretty said what I have been thinking. If it was so great that the current SC had so much experience on the bench when they were first appointed, how come we ended up with such a stupid decision on the eminent domain Kelo case?

Change is not always a bad thing.

So now who do they blame for "Allah's Wrath" regarding this earthquake?

You know they have an answer to that. It's because Pakistan is cooperating with us in the WOT. Never mind that the area hardest hit is the tribal stronghold region helping Al Qaeda. If anything that's punishment for not having driven us out of the Uma yet.

I think Hillary is going to allow as much of her dirt to be blown about now & denied (60minutes & the WAPO article in one week!!) so when it is raised in 08 she can say that was all investigated and settled in 05.

Gary Bauer made the most sense this morning of anyone so far.

He is staunchly opposed to Miers, and this is more bad news for this awful nomination. Add his name to George Will, Robert Bork, William Kristol, Michelle Malkin, Charles Krauthammer, Byron York, Ann Coulter, and Pat Buchanan in the list who oppose Miers.

This nomination was a colossal mistake. Karl Rove was too clever by half with this Hail Mary pass.

Did you hear? 60 Minutes will have rebuttal from Sandy Berger to counter Freeh. Gee, a convicted liar and thief versus the past head of the FBI. Wonder who will have the most credibility? /sarcasm

Yes.

A year from now the opinion will be one of two possibilities:

1. Miers is the grandest conservative JC in history, or

2. Miers makes Ginsberg look conservative.

A year from now is too late. When a President appoints a Judge, he doesn't get a do-over. Appointing a Judge is not like appointing a cabinet member or department head. That cabinet member or department head can be replaced if they don't follow the intent of the President. A Judge cannot be; that justice is there for life. That is why the conservative base is so upset. They want a known quantity, not some stealth (hidden, invisible) unknown quantity.

Does anyone remember what Tim Russert said regarding a quote Buchanon had had about Justice Souter? Buchanon said back then 'that Souter was a great cadidate?' And Buchanon is out there tearing apart Bush and Miers after that? What a hyporcit....I am really beginning to hate Buchanon.

Sandy may be wearing the complete outfit of orange coveralls if he is convicted of violating his probation.

You mean Sandy "A J Foyt"(I can drive 88 and stick nat. archive docs in my pants if I want)the burglar. I heard he has to go up in front of the same judge who originally basically let him off. Might get interesting.

You are correct but the person appointing them must have a fair idea of how that person will react under given circumstances.

Everyone is an individual no 2 conservatives will agree 100 per cent of the time on each issue. I am sure that GWB is confident that she is a true conservative and she will adhere to the Constitution/accepted law and will not legislate from the bench and therefore will agree with the majority of conservative the majority of the time.

I am sure there will be times where her vote may not be the same as you or I or others wish on varied topics but her the overall philosophy is what is important.

NO TWO PEOPLE WILL AGREE OR VOTE THE SAME 100 PER CENT OF THE TIME

"Looking at what she has said and done rather then listing to the very shifting reasons put out by the Whaa! Chorus is what is changing my mind."

Wow! Talk about a concept the Beltway gang and the MSM have forgotten how to do.

I think you're on to something.

IMHO for too long the Republicans have fretted too much about whether their candidates stance on Roe was going to cause a big dustup in Congress and the MSM and get their candidate "Borked", and ended up sending up "safe" nominees The Rats knew this and have used it like Barry Bonds bat on a hanging curve.

The President nominating Ms. Meiers could just be W's way of giving all those weak sisters the finger.

I think CJ Roberts and Ms. Meiers are going to bring some needed changes to the SCOTUS.

Yeah Buchanon has become such an isolationist he's cut himself off from reality.

Bush just doesn't seem to want the fight

Maybe the President thinks adding Harriet Miers to the USSC would be a good idea.

Best minds or best schools are all subjective. Nominees we know have good minds for the court are unacceptable to the left for the same reason. In their mind, anyway.

Mort Kondroke mentioned this on Hugh's show. He talked to a conservative senator & he says - We knew Ginsberg is extreme liberal, voted 96/3. How can we deny Miers who President says shares his view? How can we expect her to be worse than Ginsberg who we voted for 96/3?

MSNBC question for viewers should be:

Should soldiers be riding bikes that are not uparmored?

Freeh may have a deal with 60 Minutes for delaying so they can be first. Look for Freeh next week after the fact.
