Target Continues Ban on Salvation Army, Adds Sex Toy Products
American Family Association | 10/7/2005 | Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman

Posted on 10/07/2005 1:30:13 PM PDT by dvan

Target Corporation will continue to ban the Salvation Army from their 1,351 stores this Christmas season. The Army will not be allowed to place their red kettles in front of Target stores.

Despite increased need caused by the hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Target continues to bar the Salvation Army.

Many observers feel that the ban by Target is a result of pressure put on the company by homosexual groups. Homosexual activists have targeted the Salvation Army for years because of the Army's refusal to recognize their lifestyle. Target is a supporter of various homosexual causes.

While Target contributes to homosexual groups, the company publicly states that they will not contribute to any religious groups. For Target, homosexual organizations are worthy of financial support, Christian and Jewish organizations are not.

Further showing Target's true colors, WTOP Radio Network in Washington, DC, reports that Target is one of the national chains that will be carrying a new line of women's products that includes a vibrator.

Elexa by Trojan spokeswoman Cassandra Johnson says the products will be discreetly packaged and sold in the feminine care aisle.

"Formerly the domain of sex shops, such products have been brought out of the shadows by popular television shows like 'Sex and the City,'" WTOP reported.

While Target continues to ban the Salvation Army, competitors such as Wal-Mart are increasing their donations to the Salvation Army. Wal-Mart and others continue to welcome the Army's kettles.

Please send an email asking Target to end their ban of the Salvation Army and their offering of a sex toy line of products. In addition, you can email Wal-Mart, thanking them for supporting the Salvation Army.

Sincerely,

Don

Target is a supporter of various homosexual causes. Sooooo... it will be intesting to see if Target has Blue Light specials in the sexual entertainment department. *rolling eyes*

Wal-Mart still had the bell-ringers this year where I live - so did K-Mart. I haven't shopped at Target since before last Christmas when they decided to not allow the Salvation Army at their stores. I like Wal-Mart much more anyway.

Completetly true.

A viewer notified media watchdog Reverend Donald Wildmon that, in one episode of this series, it looks like Mighty Mouse reaches into a pocket and snorts cocaine from his hand to regain his strength. Wildmon was disbelieving at first, but after investigating the episode and learning of producer Ralph Bakshi's background (e.g., directing the adult cartoon Fritz The Cat), alerted the media that this may have been intentional.

Wildmon is an I-D-I-O-T.

I banned purchases from Target last year when they banned the Salvation Army. I've also convinced family members to go elsewhere.

Actually, Wal Mart has been selling a vibrator for the past two years in the form of a Harry Potter Vibrating Broomstick.

When I worked at Macy's years ago, we used to sell a rather phallic "back massager." 99% of the people who bought it were women. When one was returned, let's just say it had a "stain in an odd place."

Well?

Well, don't shop there.
Maybe you can start a Kooks-R-Us franchise as an alternate.

Not doing any such thing.
I stopped going to Target last year, and if enough people do the same, they will get the message loud and clear.
.If they do not, it merely means that not enough people did what I did. It was my choice, not yours. As is everyone else's.

Hahahaha, people actually tried to return those? I was shocked to find one of those out in plain site in my parents bedroom many years ago. I started to tease my mom about it & she looked confused....she really did use it as a back masssager & it never occurred to her that it would be looked at as something "naughty". My mom is not that good of an actress so I know whe was telling the truth.

Target is on my s@#$ list.
First for their ban of Salvation Army and their return policy stinks.
I was listening to Clark Howard last week and he was railing on about their 3 times / year return policy.

Any store with a poor return policy doesn't get my business. Another store that comes to mind is the Burlington Coat Factory.

Wow - your response could have come right out of the Liberal play book. Ignore the argument and the issue at hand. Simply call the person you disagree with a nut and grab the high ground on the argument.

There is no reason to argue or discuss the point because a nutty Christian made it.

How about this - we are in the middle of a culture war. That's right, a culture WAR. The left in this country are not content with battling the Christian right in the arena of idea. They want to have them removed completely. One such way of doing this is to personally attack certain people and classify all Christians as idiots. While at the same time declaring themselves are intellectual and thoughtful analysts of our daily lives.

What the left are today are cowards. They are afraid of arguing issues. They are great at slandering opponents.

The ban on the Salvation Army is simply the attempt at removing the expression of Christianity from society. There is no thought at avoiding "offending" non-Christian patrons. The ACLU is not trying to remove Nativity Scenes from display to avoid offending atheists. Both organizations are trying to eliminate the public display of Faith by Christians. If the Nation of Islam wanted to march in a Target parking lot in LA or NY City, I don't doubt they would be applauded and supported.

The sale of vibrators is sleazy. What's next? This is simply indicative of Target's support for those who want to take our culture just a little further down the road to depravity. Slowly but surely, these lefties and perverts are dragging our culture towards the utopia that Canada and Europe are experiencing by eliminating all social limits on citizens.

Happy Anarchy!

Target says they cannot discriminate and if Salvation Army can put someone out front then they cannot refuse "gays for aids victims" from soliciting.

Target "speaks" with forked tongue.

The Salvation Army, a good organization with a directive to not becoming a good organization gone bad.

Good for them for they apparently prefer to focus on humanity issues while not succumbing to political issues with concerns directed by monetary concerns.

You wonder why Victoria's Secret doesn't carry that stuff, Women love that place.

Reminds me of comedian I heard once, "Victoria's secret, What is Victoria's 'secret'?...I'll tell you, Victoria's 'secret' is that she's a Ho!"
