I'm not one to normally complain on FR about freedoms that have been lost since the 9/11 attacks.
But...
We talk about the communist country of China and how they don't have free internet access.
Last night I was reading through some threads and started doing some Jihad research and came up with one of Al-Qaeda's web site's called Jihad Media Battalion.
I typed the url www.k-j-i.tk and it said "could not be found"
So I Googled Jihad Media Battalion and came up with katiba.100free.com/default.html
When I went to this site it started to bring up there site but I was then immediately sent to the c.i.a. website which said in the url bar that my I.P. was being logged.
Now this scares me because, not only have I been censored to research against the terrorists that we are fighting, but now I am made to feel as if I am being examined as a criminal now because I was looking at that site.
So it makes me feel like the c.i.a. is wondering and perhaps investigating what my motives were for visiting the site.
Now I, like many, would normally feel grateful that the c.i.a. is ay least intelligent enough to know about the site and we would want them to do there best to find any home grown Jihadist's.
But.
I felt like my freedoms and right to privacy were smashed and that I could be a suspect by the "thought police".
Some other url's that I found through Google are below but I don't want to go research our enemy because it might incriminate me. I have not visited the below links so I have no clue what they are. I am sure they are all Al-Qaeda links.

Performing a tracert to katiba.100free.com brings back an IP address of 205.134.160.10. That address resolves to smartypants.ai.net.
Hardly seems like the address of the CIA. I'm thinking it's been hacked or it's a spoofed site. Now, when it redirects, it does appear to be possibly going to the CIA. That's what "Spoofstick" returns and netstat -a brings back connections to www.central-intelligence-agency.info. However, performing a whois search on that is not conclusive. I've listed it below:

Most sites log your IP address. This site at least told you they were doing it. If you go to 50 sites in a day, your IP has been logged probably 40+ times.
The only thing they would get is the referer and your IP address. Well, probably your OS and browser information as additional. How many people do yo think would visit the government's site in one day? It's not going to be easy to monitor thousands of people and to investigate background records for each, so relax.
ty beth.
Wow. A racist slur. When you put it that way it makes perfect sense. /sarcasm
Personally, I don't really care. If I wanted to keep something secret, I sure would not use the WWW and since I have nothing to keep secret, I could care less how much they monitor me.
Those that would trade their liberty for a little temporary security deserve neither liberty nor security.

Since I stole it from someone on FreeRepublic (possibly "Registered") I sure can't object to much.
Welcome to the place where the rubber meets the road. Now let me ask you one more time...
What parts of that Patriot Act are you completely comfortable with? :-)
Thank you for the ping!
WOW..me racist not on your life! Just when it comes to the rag heads and their followers..you know the animals that chop peoples heads off for no reason other than their own pleasure..
Oh thank you..I will remember that when I use it and get caught..LOL!
You are welcome..I hope you enjoyed the thread as much as I have..
There is a very small sub-clause with which I'm not only comfortable, but fully endorse.
It reads,
"Ending sentences with a preposition is terroristic in nature.
In an effort to provide remedial education, certain Freepers may be required to
attend Freshman College English at an all girls school in Sweden."
Now that's one thing the Patriot Act is good for.
Hiya BQ...didn't see your post till just now; I'll be back latah. : )
