A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

ood morning, FRiends.   I have often wished I had a *generic* table to post on days when I'm short of time,   or low on creativity, and can't think of a theme or can't find the right graphics when I *have* a theme.   So, here it is - I made one - and you will probably see it again 'cause it just says WELCOME!

I'm calling it my "Ain't Got No Theme" (sorta)  or  "Ain't Got No Graphics" (sorta) table.  When you see it, you will know it's one or the other - or BOTH!   Do hope you'll stop in, have a cup of coffee, share your thoughts, pick a theme, post a picture, offer a suggestion for a future theme, offer to WRITE a future thread, or just wave as you drive by. :)

Can cold water clean dishes?

Can cold water clean dishes? This is for all the germ conscious folks that worry about using cold water to clean.
John went to visit his 90 year old grandfather in a very secluded, rural area of Georgia. After spending a great evening chatting the night away, John's grandfather prepared breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast. However, John noticed a film-like substance on his plate, and questioned his grandfather, asking, "Are these plates clean?"

His grandfather replied, "They're as clean as cold water can get them. Just you go ahead and finish your meal, Sonny!"

For lunch the old man made hamburgers. Again, John was concerned about the plates as his appeared to have tiny specks around the edge that looked like dried egg and asked, "Are you sure these plates are clean?"

Without looking up the old man said, "I told you before, Sonny, those dishes are as clean as cold water can get them. Now don't you fret, I don't want to hear another word about it!"

Later that afternoon, John was on his way to a nearby town and as he was leaving, his grandfather's dog started to growl, and wouldn't let him pass. John yelled and said, "Grandfather, your dog won't let me get to my car".

Without diverting his attention from the football game he was watching on TV, the old man shouted ..."COLDWATER, GO LAY DOWN!!!!"

Thanks for starting my day with a smile on my face!!!!!

Welcome! I thought it was so cute, but when I got up this morning, I still didn't know for sure what I was going to post today. Found that picture last night, and was sorta leaning towards "Coldwater" though. :)

Thanks, tulip - glad you got a chuckle out of the joke. :)

Today's holidays are:

Golf Lovers Day
Universal Children's Day
Taco Day
Techies Day
World Animal Day
St. Francis Day
International Toot Your Flute Day

Hmmm - lots to choose from. Let's see what OESY chooses to showcase. :)

I just listened to his ringing endorsement of her...I am content...I have been reading as much as possible about her.

I'm glad, Meg. We know there are those who are going to criticize him no matter what he does.

Good morning dear ones here at the Finest from a gorgeous day here in Ohio (which I will shortly be going out to play in).

Lovely presentation of a hoot of a story. I had also heard that one with "soap & water".. and yes, there were two pooches named... you got it.. Soap & Water!

Confession time. We use that method here also . Of course I do some sterilizing /washing afterward. I don't have a dishwasher here (well, I do, IT IS ME) and do all my dishes in various soapy detergents & bleach (about 1/4 cup) in each dishpan.

will check in later.

Posted this elsewhere but it is MY opinion of the nomination for SC Justice! (I think she will do fabulously in hearings AND ON SUPREME COURT) I will continue to trust our president

thanks for the lists tulip.. not sure everyone read the other day that Tulip would LOVE for someone to take over the posting of holidays as her time is very minimal at this point?

anyone out there who might be willing to take this on as their contribution to the thread, to all of our fun & enjoyment?

FReepmail her & she will get you going!

Morning Billie, did you hear the press conference this morning? What everyone is missing is his comments about bird flu. How do you section off a town, part of the country, etc., and who decides it an epidemic. Interesting, and very upfront about it. I trust Bush about this one too. It appears that an epidemic is being planned for and will be acted upon.

LOL! Or when she is trying to get a shower attachment out of the box!

Good morning to you, chickie. :-)

Chachi was sick last night and is still not feeling well this morning, won't even touch the egg I fixed for him. With Jackie being so sick recently, I am watching him closely to see if he should be taken into the vet. He may have to miss class tonight. :-(
