Like our local retired baseball coach: Sports nut, man's man, hunter, fisherman, conservative, but never married. Has always been rumored gay for that one reason.
To: johnmecainrino
question is, will enough conservatives complain enough to make the dembo's happily slide her right on in?

Because if you are single at 60 you just MUST be gay. Sometimes the thought process around here makes my head spin! :)THOUGHT PROCESS?? I don't see no thought process! :)
But I do see a whole BUNCH of emotional nonsense based on a lack of information, and a whole lot of rumors that are being proven FALSE on this very thread.

Floriduh works Terri Schiavo into every thread. If we started a weather/raining thread, she would try to derail the conversation into the fact that Terri didn't even get to drink rain water.
I am sorry about Terri, truly, but thread hijacking is really annoying.

Except it was only withdrawn because the Chief Justice died.
Thanks for pointing out the obvious. I was simply trying to make a rhetorical case for the precedent.

"To go against Bush."
Oh. You mean like they did with Souter?

Once again, for the record, I was responding to "notes2005" in my post. I should have put the large font remarks in quotes. I believe the post I was responding to has since been removed by the moderator.

And the word of the day is: "Hysterical".

Why do we think it should be someone WE know?
Because a SCOTUS pick is a political pick - not only for the future, but for now. Dividing your base unecessarily is stupid.
If (a big if) this nominee turns out to be OK, no one will remember so much where she came from. On the other hand, come election day 2006 and 2008 there are a lot of people who voted against Gore and Kerry who will be wondering why it was again.

appears to be This is a serious problem.
Everyone against this nomination is doing so based on what "appears to be" and not on what IS.
Can we please wait to find out the FACTS before jumping off the deep end here??

How about Halliburton? Where does global warming fit in?
To: Jotmo
Assisted suicide is on the docket at the Supremes today. Terri's was a forced exit, a cousin to assisted suicide.

Her intelligence is not what I am concerned about.
I'd rather have a conservative justice that isn't a brilliant mind than a moderate intellectual.
Their votes are what counts in the scheme of things.
