'COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF' SUTHERLAND: BUSH WILL DESTROY OUR LIVES
Choking back tears, COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF star Donald Sutherland warned this week: President Bush "will destroy our lives!"
The star of the new ABC drama, which follows the first woman President of the United States, lashed out at the real White House during a dramatic sit down interview with the BBC.
Sutherland ripped Bush and his administration for the war and Hurricane Katrina fallout.
"They were inept. The were inadequate to the task, and they lied," Sutherland charged.
"And they were insulting, and they were vindictive. And they were heartless. They did not care. They do not care. They do not care about Iraqi people. They do not care about the families of dead soldiers. They only care about profit."
At one point during the session, Sutherland started crying: "We stolen our children's future... We have children. We have children. How dare we take their legacy from them. How dare we. It's shameful. What we are doing to our world."
Sutherland went on rip Karl Rove's "methods and means" against people like Cindy Sheehan.
"We're back to burning books in Germany," Sutherland said of NBC's editing out of Kanye West's comment on Bush during a hurricane relief telethon.

Donald Sutherland sounds like a typical Hollywood clown. One good thing, though - - I haven't heard any of this political silliness from Keifer. I love the show '24' and I know Rush does, too. Rush was even invited to visit the set last year, and he talked about it with enthusiasm on his show. I don't think Rush mentioned meeting K. Sutherland, though.

Time for Donald to go back to Canada.
I remember that during Vietnam, he was part of the FTA tour with Jane Fonda protesting against the U.S.

To which I say, wingman, we disagree. The President HAS sold us out and he planned to long ago. CAFTA is a prime example. The selling of America didn't start with GW, but he certainly pushed it into high gear. There are plenty of specifics to back up my opinion. But for an obvious example consider his resistance to close the border and do a little count of who should be returned to their home country and told to go through the legal process.
Consider his trashing of the Swiftboat vets and the Minute Men. His refusal to step boldly on border issues and it's costs to all Americans beginning at the local level. 911 presented the absolute perfect opportunity to make the changes necessary to 'PROTECT' America and Americans. But, it was not done. 6 years later, the Domestic policy and rights of Americans have been brazenly chewed if not shredded. I point to eminent domain, CFR, CAFTA and the border as specific and egregious attacks against our own citizens that occurred on GW's watch. I expected much much more from him and the GOP.
No one takes actors seriously anymore, least of all Donald Sutherland.. so to me, sugesting what Sutherland would've done is a ridiculous comparison imho.

Hey Donald. They get you while you sleep.

I voted for Bush for two reasons.
1) After decades of indifference to Islamist terrorists he has been the only President to take action against them.
2) I view the appointment of conservative judges to the Federal bench and the Supreme Court to be of paramount importance.
While I do not agree with many of the actions President Bush has taken, I certainly do not share your view that these constitute "specific and egregious attacks against our own citizens".
Please go back and reread my previous post in which I made reference of what would happen if the "likes" of Donald Sutherland ran things - a reference not just to actors but to left wing Marxists like Hillary Clinton.

In Animal House, Sutherland was the professor who talked lovingly about Satan. Then he introduced pot to some of the students and slept with one of his students. Very accurate portrayal of professors, I would say. Maybe he's scared of Bush's college education? /sarc

He has a new movie coming out (Pride and Prejudice) in November, I think. He's just trying to get some attention for it.
Maybe his son needs to give him a talking to.

Oh I still like him. And I still like Jack Nicholson. They're comedians who play goofy characters and have very little impact on what voters think. In fact, their endorsement could be more harmful. =]
Whoopi Goldberg and George Lucas, on the other hand, I do take seriously. Goldberg got wa....ay too vulgar, not to mention, she's a serial abortionist. And Lucas is no comedian when he talks publicly.

If Commander in Chief had a 50-50 chance of being a hit TV series, I think Sutherland has worsened the odds. They should tell Donald that there is no award for, "Best Performance at a Press Conference". With Eleanor Clift as one of the script writers for the series, it makes it even more obvious that this dreck is just a thinly disguised one hour Hollywood, "Hitlery for President" commercial. I don't think the public will sit still for being used as propaganda test subjects.
Geena Davis would be wise to start updating her CV and by telling her agent to start looking for a good movie script because she's likely to be available in the near future.

Asking the wrong one for such negative vibes. We need to stay righteous and dig the beauty around us. [Actually, I boycotted ALL TV so I'm blissfully ignorant of who to boycott.]
