The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.

That's what the OU Daily is reporting. They took it out to their range to detonate. It sure was loud and I am probably 4-5 miles from the site.
Yes, that's what later replies indicat. Additionally, a thread explains the huge explosive cache that was found in the apartment. Not any website but a likely credible one. I'll post the URL if I can find it.
Sorry. This twisted vine started with someone comparing the wall-to-wall coverage of a capsized boat in New York(?) with the lack of coverage of the Oklahoma bomb blast.
I was just asking why nobody was speculating that the boat incident could have been a terror attack made to look like an accident. Not seriously though.
The vine had a little to much growth, and I didn't have the sense to cut it off. I'll do so now.
I'm not on either side. This sounded to me like a terror attack, but I didn't see enough evidence, and I don't believe there is a plot by the news media to hide the facts from us. I just think they are incompetent.
I think this story is going to grow legs very shortly. I think the university president has been trying to do PR damage control. He's a leftie that doesn't have a clue folks like us are literate and have the internet.

For one very obvious reason: American kids have never before committed suicide using terrorism vests. Whatever this kid was up to, this is unprecedented. That is why it should be enormously interesting to us, perhaps not 24/7.

Ah. All right, then. I just kept staring and blinking at that one line, utterly fuddled. ("'Boat?' What 'boat'...?") :)
I just saw an OU Daily article that said there were also buses on the south oval, which would be near the explosion. The picture they had appeared to have been taken in daylight (today, I assume.) This would put the bomb between the buses in the pic and the stadium. But it is not clear to me from the reporting exactly where the bomb went off. I think still pretty far from the buses (for window breakage.)
Who is reporting he had on a suicide vest? It is very possible he wasn't committing suicide but wanted to blow up a bus (a K-State bus) and the bomb went off prematurely.
I noticed it said today in news articles that Boren spoke from where he was "convalescing." Do you know what ails him?

I have been trying to keep everyone posted with info that I heard from news sources today and people on campus but even the news sources are not on the same page -- have different stories to the same thing.
If someone is trying to confuse what has happened, they are doing a great job! :)
Even our OK Homeland Security guy on the news was disagreeing with his (Boren's) assessment of the situation.
