The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.
Glad you said that about the media -- cannot believe the lack of coverage. Someone sent me a freep mail and said that our 8:00 o'clock bombing was at the same time as the Bali bombings. I hadn't heard about Bali so I have no idea but I do know the first half was really long.
I posted it to you as information, not gospel. PhiKapMom is reputable. She was there, also. You might want to read her posts. Nothing is gospel, even when (especially when) the MSM reports it.
Bali was at 8 PM their time, not Central.
I think that's probable. Even if they found any ID at the scene, there may very well be nothing else there they can positively identify as that person without dental records or dna tests.
Yes. Interesting that the police and Boren now say there was no second device and that they detonated a back pack as a precaustion. Ok. If this was a just suicide by bomb, why worry about the back pack? Why would a person who wants to commit suicide by bomb have a second device? If he succeeds it sure aint gonna be necessary and even if he fails is he gonna be in any shape to set off the second device. I also have to wonder about the reports the stadium was swept for bombs before the game. Is this routine? Does Oklahoma bring out that much passion from the visiting team's supporters? I doubt it. Also how soon were FBI on the scene. The sooner they came the more I would think a bomb threat had been received prior to the game. The words of the police and Boren say one thing, their actions say something else.
She is one of the most reliable posters here. I don't always agree with her, but I do search out her posts as they are highly credible.
Good point..It's too nice out to bother.
Have fun ..We'll see during the week what this really is about .
My conclusion was that I have no conclusion as of yet .not enough facts . Maybe you were talking about my gut feeling ( not a logical conclusion at all , just a wild guess)
Yes, I was attending OU back when he was arrested. Still am, for that matter. I'm all for finding/exporting undocumented and expired-visa students. If nothing else, it might at least ease the parking problems here.
BTW, I posted a reply to GummyIII concerning one of your posts, and forgot to put you on the recipients list. My apologies.
Yeah. And, yet, if a young, depressed suicidal Palestinian man blows himself up next to a soccer match in Tel Aviv tonight, tomorrow's lead story on The Today show will be: In Reaction to Bush Foreign Policy, Suicide Bomber Detonates at Israeli Soccer Match; Terrorism Suspected
Me: Isn't this also the start of RAMADAN. More blasts in Bali, a fake report of kidnapped marines, a rumored Ramadan offensive in the works.
Thank God for FR. I really dislike relying on the MSM for news. God bless you guys!

"Yes.
Let's just stick to facts that are reported:
3 buses were impounded
one of the bus drivers was taken to the hospital due to being knocked over by the blast
police told an eyewitness that they believed the bombs were to be attached to the buses
the force of the blast indicates full ordnance rather than pipe bomb
two mid east men were seen running away from the scene of the explosion into the crowd of the stadium after the blast
a second device had to be detonated by robot
police would not move the body until it was investigated for concealed ordnance
No one in any official capacity has even used the word terrorism.
Conclusion:
3 mideastern men planned to afix ordnance of a sophisticated kind to buses which would explode while filled with college students making this the first Israeli style terrorist attack on American soil."
So you don't fear speculation, you just try to suppress it. For the good of others, I am sure. I hold out hope that it will be a non-story, and recognize that as a possibility. In the absence of other information aren't you willing to consider that it COULD be something more than... well, than the "no-nevermind" you seem hell-bent on defending? Are people wrong for even considering that this could be a problem?
Thats what it seems like so far anyway ..
I wonder if his cell phone worked LATER? He said he called out immediately.
If there were two bombs, yes. Unfortunately, the authorities have since claimed that the second device was just a *suspicious package*

One person is dead and five others are injured following an explosion on the campus of the University of Oklahoma.
The blast occurred not far from a football stadium that was packed with fans cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners.
Spectators reported hearing the blast during the game but no one was hurt in the stadium.
There are reports that the blast was part of a suicide plot. The victim's name has not been released and the cause of the explosion is unknown.
Actually, that's pretty straightforward. After all, they could have said "allegedly killed." ;)
