The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.
Pravda has taken over...
.OR..there is not much to the story so far ..That's a remote possibility of why it's not headline news.
Thanks so much for this! Well, last night I had a feeling there was more to this, if only because of Boren's odd statement.
LOL
"Google "SDS" and "Weather Underground Movement"
I know who they were. Those people were not "hippies." They simply disguised themselves as ones.
Yes, and close to a stadium. Quite commonplace.

Good one man , I've been saying that all night . The wild speculation on FR since last night has really surprised me .
Some people have approached the Grassy Knoll stage here . Like , "why did all the cell phone mysteriously go out " .
That is a very old map. There is a parking garage that fills the parking lot shown on the west side of the stadium in your map. I'm currently a student at OU, have taken classes in GLC Hall. I'd say 100 yards max, probably more like 75-80, to the parking garage, which is now attached to the statium.
You're kidding, right? Did you read PhiKapMom's posts or the recaps of them? She was there. Local news is not reporting the injuries that occurred, or the other oddities last night; they're not, in fact, reporting much of anything.
A bomb is not a good way to commit suicide. To make sure you actually die, and don't just survive as a blind paraplegic, it needs to be a BIG bomb. And making a big bomb these days is a bit more involved and difficult than just buying a shotgun at K-mart and sticking the barrel in your mouth
Somebody either wanted really badly to make everybody finally notice him, or it was a "work accident". I say "him" because women tend not to commit suicide in ways that leave behind a badly disfigured body
We must all remember this is the weekend.
Media "stars" and prima donnas (executives, producers, directors, field correspondents, newsreaders, Shep, Geraldo and Anderson) are all busy sailing outside Martha's Vineyard or otherwise occupied.
Only third-stringers and lowly grunts work on weekends (as typified by Sunday morning Fox and Friends).
Remember all the immediate hoopla and non-stop chattering and semi-hysterical reporting after the Atlanta Olympics bombing (also one fatality)?

Ok then buddy , you're right , this is obviously an attempted terrorist attack and the Dem controlled MSM is blocking all the news for ...for..I dont know , whatever reason you want it to be ...I see it all now..
Not a problem.
Run with the dogs, you are gonna get fleas.
And heard it over the background noise of a whole football stadium
I think it went off prematurely, too. I'd bet the perp was thinking of disguising the sound of the explosion behind the sounds of the booming "cannons" that the OU pep guys, the Ruf-Neks, fire off. They are thunderous.
They shoot them after touchdowns, but also right before half-time, when the Sooner Schooner is running off the field. There wouldn't be any way to predict when we might score a touchdown (at least, NOT THESE DAYS--any other season, it would just be whenever we had the ball, hee hee), so the most predictable "booming" would be happening right before half-time, or shortly AFTER this explosion happened.
With so many people, the crowd noise, and the sounds coinciding, or happening in conjunction with, the "expected" booming sounds on-field, it would perhaps be mass confusion to point to which direction the "real" bomb sound came from.
I'm not discounting that there might have actually been some sort of attempt at something other than a suicide, but you're right, the speculation here is approaching grassy knoll level.
This was taken from Boren's official statement, probably published on Oklahoma news sites and certainly broadcast on the evening news last night. I wondered about that part of the statement when they aired it.
