From Staff Reports
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said. The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department.
The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State.
After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.

They are calling it a suicide, NOT a suicide bombing. WHY does Oklahoma always do this?
Because there is no evidence that this was a botched terrorist attempt.

All speculation for the moment.
That is what I am saying. Believe me the facts will come out eventually. The MSM can't silence 90,000 people (not just the fans, but the cops, the other security types, the vendors, etc....)

"For all we know, it could have been some hippies."
Yeah. Let's arrest everybody with long hair, who smells bad, or who's wearing a dress with flowers on it. Or wearing Birkenstocks. That'll stop those dang hippies.
Wait, I thought all hippies did was smoke dope and stare at walls.

Funny how they haven't put out any statment on the identity of the bomber yet. If it wasn't a muslim, you'd think they'd rush out that information as soon as possible to quell speculation. Generally they don't release the identity of the dead until next-of-kin have been notified
That won't hold water after this afternoon

OMG is right! Does anyone have any information that the President of UO had a sweep of the stadium before the game?
Someone posted right after the attack that Boren had the stadium swept before the game. Is this true, and if so WHY?
This all seems so hush-hush to me that it's scary.

It is aggravating that this morning people are jumping in without having read 1400 posts during live events.
Yep. it sure is /sarcasm

Thanks for your link. This is the kind of stuff I'm looking for. I find the following particularly interesting.
"My family and I were sitting at home, roughly one mile away from the stadium as a bird flies, when we heard and felt an earth shattering explosion. I was monitoring my hand held amateur radio when the local repeater erupted with chatter about a explosion. It was so loud that people wanted to know if others had heard it. I called the Police who advised me that officers were on the scene and that a explosion had occurred but they would not give any other details. Our house literally shook."

We watched the first two eps of E-Ring, too. Mostly, we like it, despite them constantly mucking up military talk--like "zero five hundred" instead of "oh-five-hundred"--mostly it's just nitpicking; the rest is pretty good.

Perhaps they need to do attendance or roll call to see who is missing I guess that's one possible explanation. If the person blew themselves to smithereens, informed no one of their intentions, and left no identifying information whatsoever, I'm sure it would take a while. You probably would just have to figure out over time who's missing.

2. Cell phones and instant messaging did not work for some period of time. Reason unknown. That one is easy to explain. The system was overloaded. It has happened before.

Wow! My family and I were sitting at home, roughly one mile away from the stadium as a bird flies, when we heard and felt an earth shattering explosion. I was monitoring my hand held amateur radio when the local repeater erupted with chatter about a explosion. It was so loud that people wanted to know if others had heard it. I called the Police who advised me that officers were on the scene and that a explosion had occurred but they would not give any other details. Our house literally shook. The ground vibrated with a deep rolling growling sound. This was a large explosion. Not some mere Pipe bomb put together by a pissed off student. But when I arrived at the stadium to shoot video for a local news station I regularly freelance for, already this was the spin on the story. This was serious business. This bomb was meant to kill not one person, but as many as could be reached in a crowd based on the size and power of the device alone.Wow is right! Sounds like a big one, and a big cover up IMHO. As for the pipe bomb, I agree that it probably wasn't one. Any pipe bomb that big would be quite conspicuous. I knew of some friends back in the 70's that blew up a huge pipe bomb, made of a 1-foot long section of cast iron drain pipe full of gun powder. They set it off down at the local dump (a very isolated area, fortunately). I was quite a distance away and knew exactly when it went off. Very intense percussion.
Somebody has a lot more to say here, and they aren't talking. I wonder if campus security video picked up on the others that allegedly ran away.

While trustworthy, perhaps she's trusting in rumours that she has heard (about the 2nd bomb being detonated). Actually, she even acknowledges that she's going by "what she heard from others" But you'll notice that she specifies the source of each report, and all I can think of were eyewitnesses. That is, there was only one link between us and the eyewitness to the event.

Is it possible for you to go get some photos of the blast(s) site(s) and post them here?

Interesting first-hand account- although he is clearly biased (probably with cause) against the university head- which may be coloring his reaction(s).
Having spoken for the devil's advocate- I STILL just can't get past the lack of interest by the media- and the lack of ID by the police/university.

Others might have better info on the phones--but I do know they quickly found a second device. It's possible they turned everything back on after the sweep?

I think a lot of people are reading way too much into so little amount of facts .
