From Staff Reports
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said. The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department.
The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State.
After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.

Very confusing.... not one word about the incident. I guess "Big Brother" put the word out. Curious to see if security will heighten, during today's pro football games.

F & F did mention it. The first report from Kiran this morning was about this.
Granted, her prompter obviously had Bali scheduled, but she inserted ten seconds about UO before continuing.

Yeah, I find it puzzling that hardly anything is coming out from the msm about this story. Strange! If the mainstream media is to report on this, one of two things has to happen - they either must find a way to pin it on Bush, or it has to be anti Christian/anti Jew and/or pro-Islam.

"Just wondering why a bomb going off at a college football game isn't worth at least a blurb."
On the morning of the first London bombings, I happened to be watching CNBC-Europe -- and they reported it as "multiple explosions caused by power surges - terrorism not involved" for at least 3 hours before someone finally let the cat out of the bag.
Governments and/or media (I won't get into conspiracy thinking -- I WON'T!!) sure seem to have a policy of trying real hard to bury initial reports like this.
(I look for a future headline something like: "Nuclear detonation in Midtown Manhattan -- terrorism not suspected.")

No it doesn't surprise me at all really... I've been hunting around the internet for the last few minutes looking for info on recent threats, etc...
I found these two articles that are interesting...
First, is an article talking about threats in the US which mentions "hardening" of American targets due to unpublicized victories over plots in the U.S. -
http://www.knoxstudio.com/shns/story.cfm?pk=TERRORISM-09-09-05&cat=WW
" "There is no specific intelligence to suggest there is an effort on the part of terrorists to conduct any imminent attacks," said Russ Knocke, principal spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security, which handles both counterterrorism and emergency management in the country."
and this semi - conflicting talk found in an article discussing threats in Indonesia from today in Australia:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2005/10/02/wbali202.xml&sSheet=/news/2005/10/02/ixnewstop.html
"This year's bomb season also coincided with "chatter" picked up by Western electronic eavesdropping indicating that Osama bin Laden and his deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, were planning a series of attacks in October, to be known as the "Great Ramadan Offensive" to mark the Islamic holy month."
I realize that one article was from just under a month ago and talking specifically about the US and the other is speaking about threats in Indonesia, but I just thought it was worth mentioning. IIRC Bush himself made a speech on 9/11 talking about threats within the country in the upcoming months.
As far as trying to keep it quiet about the events in Oklahoma last night if that's indeed what is happening - I don't know if it's a good or bad thing to want to downplay these situations in America. I for one don't like being in the dark, but perhaps it is better not to cause panic and fear? After all, here in America we aren't really accustomed to these things vs. the rest of the world.
When it all comes down to it I hope my speculation on all of this are wrong - completely. I hope this was just some nut who decided to try to take the rest of the "world" with him when he went out... My intuition though tells me otherwise.

I stand corrected! I went out with the dogs for a minute- missed it.

And the liberals whine when George Bush tries to fight terrorism in the Middle East and keep it out of America.

Thanks.
They 'detonated' additional devices... sounds like some of the explosives failed. Anyway you look at it... it's more than just a hapless soul eliminating himself.

Well, for the Yankees in the playoffs, it might be even more security and longer lines to get into the games because of this incident -- whether or not there is any ties to terrorism...
I wonder if any of the peaceful anti-war groups will take responsibility...
