This is a quick post to provide an after action report for the DC Chapter Freep of Code Pink at Walter Reed. It was a night to remember and I did not want to keep everyone waiting. There will be a full report with all pictures later on in the week.
It was a normal but cooler night as everyone arrived for another evening of countering Code Pink. Down the street came the sound of a single motorcycle. The Rolling Thunder scout arrived to announce the news of more bikes to follow. The first scout went accross the street to talk with the Code Pinkos. The police came rolling down the street. We are not sure the exact details of what went on over there but it was not pretty in pink (land). The scout was asked by the police to come back over to our side.
The rest of the Rolling Thunder group arrived and they parked right in front of Code Pink. Gael Murphy had a fit and the police were very nice. They ask the guys from Rolling Thunder to move to our side. The bikers walked back over to their side a few times just to taunt them. When they went over to the otherside we would chant, "Hug A Vet".
Gael had a group meeting at the end and she was mad as a wet hen.
I can't believe I missed this post last night...this morning.
I was looking for it and talking to Landry fan via another thread.
You are so good at putting the event into words. I got to remember the terror on the faces of the PINKOS and be happy all over again!
I loved the "OH Sweat Pea" comments.
Was that the same guy who discovered that the back of one sign said..."Daughter of a Marine"? He was so shocked that he had been holding it up and we were seeing the back of the sign. NO PHOTOS GIVEN!!
OUTSTANDING!
don't even need photos! just the mental image has had me sitting at my computer laughing out loud! Thanks for making my day.
I like your "DUMB CLUCK" so much better than dumb chick!
Thanks for the video CB! Any more to come?
Thank you so much for the ping! Yeehaw for our side!
I didn't hear a verbal response but I assure you that the men from Tolling Thunder didn't get a hug.
Most of the guys from Rolling Thunder are in their mid to late fifties. They're still hard and are goin' at life full tilt. Personally, I'm happy they're with us. I think squeegee guy had to throw his suit away after last night.
Yep, it sounds like...............
VICTORY!
No drinking this early.
Ha Ha
It's one way to get through the day so that the cocktail hour arrives sooner.
Thanks for you thread and your vigilance.
Thank you for this report! It made my morning. Those bikes are beautiful!!!!! I wish I lived closer so I could participate one night! You all are fantastic!! :o)
Pink chicken, anyone?
So if Gael is reporting that gangs and thugs showed up, what do you imagine will happen to their usual suspects next week? Do you think their numbers will drop off? (smiling here)
These gangs and thugs were screwed over by people like Gael and her ilk. Let's roll Rolling Thunder.
Secretly I'm hoping they are still there in May 2006...just to read the report for THAT night.
From the Code Pink Web site. Is this church one of the weird Lesbian and Gay ones? If not, this paster needs to receive a few calls that explain to him that the Code Pinkos are traitors and insurgent supporters.
3D- I thought I pinged you to it as soon as I found it. I meant to.
Since when does Code Pink care about not offending people?
I read three or four of the reports written by some weirdo. They bore no resemblance to any of the freeps I've attended.
From the outrageously funny Code Pink "Walter Reed Vigil Report No. 2":
"The Free Republics (Freepers) had been reinforced by a large number of people I would soon discover were Republicans from Arlington, VA and members of the Rolling Thunder motorcycle gang..."
"The Freepers, "Young" Republicans, and the Rolling Thunder thugs were very aggressive..."
"The Administration must be desperate to call out Republican Party members and the Rolling Thunder thugs (I won't call them bikers--that would be offensive to all other bikers) to try and break up our vigil..."
I think they all needed a diaper change after the Rolling Thunder guys asked them for a hug. Hey, Code PinkOs say they support and love the troops, and the vets; but when they had a chance to really show they cared, they cried for their mommies.
