This is a quick post to provide an after action report for the DC Chapter Freep of Code Pink at Walter Reed. It was a night to remember and I did not want to keep everyone waiting. There will be a full report with all pictures later on in the week.
It was a normal but cooler night as everyone arrived for another evening of countering Code Pink. Down the street came the sound of a single motorcycle. The Rolling Thunder scout arrived to announce the news of more bikes to follow. The first scout went accross the street to talk with the Code Pinkos. The police came rolling down the street. We are not sure the exact details of what went on over there but it was not pretty in pink (land). The scout was asked by the police to come back over to our side.
The rest of the Rolling Thunder group arrived and they parked right in front of Code Pink. Gael Murphy had a fit and the police were very nice. They ask the guys from Rolling Thunder to move to our side. The bikers walked back over to their side a few times just to taunt them. When they went over to the otherside we would chant, "Hug A Vet".
Gael had a group meeting at the end and she was mad as a wet hen.

Don't know. Guess there was a blue light special on stupid.
I did a little tweaking on my homepage. Beware, hanky alert.

I can't claim it, I steal everything I use. I wouldn't dream of taking credit for the beauty of a military mom.

No, I didn't think to. I just read it and looked at the pictures. I'm going back now to follow the link.
Code Pink dishonors our military, our country, and themselves!

I agree. I think they are traitors . . . but I doubt if they would actually put themselves out as far as to lift a finger to DO anything. So they are impotent traitors, at least.

Who do I talk to about how to get to the freep? I can do a cheap roundtrip thing that flies into BWI. I need to know how best to get from BWI to the Walter Reed, what kind of time frame (so I can figure out which flight to take), other info like that.
I was thinking the last weekend of October. I can take Friday off to make the trip.

It is an hour without traffic but Friday night allow at least 2 to 3 hours. When you get to the DC beltway go west I495. Get off at Silver Springs and go south on 29. You will see us across from the Walter Reed gate.

Unfortunately, Laurita, "those people" do things. They do things like protest the war at the Main Gate of Walter Reed Army Hospital, with signs that say things like "Maimed for a lie", instead of protesting the war in front of the Pentagon or the White House
They lie about where their money comes from, and they give money to "freedom fighters" in Iraq.
We will do everything the law allows to remove them from in front of Walter Reed "before" their permit expires.

If you want, I can meet you at any Metro stop, or I can pick you up at the airport.
I'm usually on the corner by 5PM, but I can re-arrange any Friday to accomadate your flight.
I like to get there first, raise the Stars and Stripes, and watch what Code Pink does when they first show up.
Freepmail me when you have a definite date, and please give me at least 48 hours notice, so I can get other personnel re-assigned to cover me.
