Bush selling out America
By: FREEMAN SAWYER
George Bush cares nothing about the security of the United States. He is selling out our country every day. No matter what some may say about his efforts in other areas, he continues to destroy our country simply out of greed. The national security of our country is critical to our survival, and no explanation can justify the president's refusal to defend our borders.
When Bill Clinton sold U.S. classified computer technology to the Chinese, we vowed to never forget his crime. Bush's continuing treachery is every bit as bad, or worse. When did party loyalty become more important than saving our country? True patriots put country before party.
Normally, I am the last one to give up on a person, and I have been secretly hoping for the president's conscience to kick in before it's too late. However, I cannot continue to stand idly by with the stakes so high and the danger too close.
Perhaps there are still a few Republicans out there who will continue to wear their blinders as our country becomes populated by masses who come here full of hate for us and what we stand for.
I can hear their excuses even now: "I know Bush was wrong on illegal immigration, but look how tough he stayed on Iraq."
Winning in Iraq won't mean a thing if we lose the battle at home. One without the other is not victory. George Bush has already begun the destruction of the Republican Party because of illegal immigration. The survival of the party will be meaningless if we become another Mexico ---- corrupt and impoverished. How would you like Nuevo Laredo to be your hometown?
Information about Bush's latest "guest worker plan" is starting to seep out. Those now in the country illegally get a free pass to stay permanently. New guest workers will be allowed to stay for six years before they go home ---- but who will make them go? For the past five years, Bush has failed to deport people, even when he knows they are here illegally.
Who will have the political courage to deport guest workers after they have been here six years? Most Americans are demanding no guest workers "who only come here to do jobs Americans won't do because they just want a better life for themselves and their family." More than 80 percent of Americans are demanding Bush seal the border at once, but his plan does no such thing because the rich contributors to the Republican Party have become addicted to cheap labor.
Does anyone really believe Bush's plan will solve the illegal immigration problem? This plan only proves that greed is a higher priority than the opinion of most Americans, their common sense and their national security.
And, what about those who continue to cross illegally? There is no provision in the plan for how long it will be until they are granted amnesty.
Bush's appointment of a highly underqualified person, Julie Myers, to head Immigration and Customs Enforcement is just one more example of the arrogance of this president. The primary duty of ICE is to apprehend alien terrorists. Why would he select a person lacking experience to head this mammoth national security and law enforcement agency if his plan wasn't for it to fail?
Did he not learn anything from the FEMA debacle? Of course, he did. Failure is what he wants, because failure to enforce our immigration laws is what he most desires.

"TRUE LEADERSHIP would proactively diffuse the fiery leftist crap and educate citizens for their own sake"
No disagreement here.
It is a sign of weakness, IMHO, for us to waste our time fixing blame and pointing fingers.
We created a political majority for the party that claimed to represent US. Once in power, they have proved themselves to have no agenda but to remain in power at any cost to our nation.
It is time for bold leadership to secure our borders, deport invaders, end foreign and corporate welfare, and return government to it's proper role as "servant of the people".
Unfortunately, our "leaders" don't agree.
*I agree we need remedial policies now. We have enboldened liberal-leftists and their divisive hate speech permeating through the MEDIA! We have no bold leadership with a clarion call to unify Americans. We have no statesman whose vision re-affirms the American spirit of self-determination.
There is hardly an escape from the dissonance caused by MEDIA's constantly featuring hate speech from psychotic partisans and from mongers pimping racism, class warfare and promoting delusions of victimization and entitlement.
The young easily quote Bill Maher's blathering quips, but they CANNOT quote verbatim the First Amendment. The essential-educationally deprived youth DO refer to some ominous "wall of separation" without understanding of what they speak.
I respond with, "You mean like the Berlin Wall?"
Usually, their reply is, "Uh, yeah."
You hit the nail on the head. I've felt this way for a long time now....
1) The logistical nightmare of trying to round up and deport a couple of cities worth of illegals boggles the mind.
I think this one is easy. Huge fines levied on those who employ invaders. The fines will be paid to the patriotic citizens who rat the employers out. Sending them back? I'l bet Haliburton would be available to manage this........
2) Just how militarized do anti-immigration folks want our borders? Should the Border Patrol be joined by the Army and given orders to shoot illegals on sight?
Army-no, National Guard and coast guard - yes - Enlistment would probably skyrocket knowing that they would be used to protect our soil.
Shoot on sight? Not necessary, land mines? maybe
3) A substantial percentage of Hispanics regard this sort of thing as racist, i.e. 'We don't want any more of THOSE people in OUR country.' What politician in his right mind is going to infuriate the fastest growing bloc of voters in the country?
Racism? BS Who cares what non-Americans thnk or say?
Any candidate who places politics before the best interests of their country deserves to be thrown out of office or defeated at the polls. Most LEGAL immigrants support tighter immigration measures.
That's not a threat, thats reality. Bash Bush enough and your gonna put the Dems in charge.
That will sure help.
Look at what Bush has accomplished, instead of complaining about a wingnut wishlist not being fulfilled.
Wasn't there something about providing a common defense for the states in the Constitution?
I think the oath of office the president swears also mentions defending the nation against all enemies?
Wingnut wishlist indeed..........
"Enlistment would probably skyrocket knowing that they would be used to protect our soil."
Unlikely.
"Shoot on sight? Not necessary, land mines? maybe"
If you're willing to use landmines, then you're willing to use deadly force without exception.
And for those who advocate landmines...I double-dog-dare you to view up close and personal the consequences of someone stepping on one. Most of the armchair commandos here would barf to the point of dry heaves and then some if they did.
That's your opinion
You'd have to rule out anyone who thinks shooting unarmed men, women, and children on sight is morally questionable--in other words, the people who enlist today.
Now, maybe there's a vast and untapped pool of homicidal psychopaths out there, just waiting for an opportunity to serve.
I think its been over a hundred years since a bunch of Mexicans attacked the United States.

Soon we'll all be one big happy Columbian Hemisphere.
Won' it be great?
Better build that wall around your house and buy kidnap insurance for the kiddies.
"It would be more accurate to say that government has been and is still selling out America."
Correct, and I would include the state and local governments too. It's not about what's best for America anymore, it's about what's best for staying in power.
Isn't it great that the countries of the western hemisphere can get together and decide US policy on remittance money? Isn't it great that the American people no longer have control over their own economy? Thanks to all the "free traders" for that one.
Carolyn
Wait until we get the big mouth H.R. clinton as president and watch our nation go down the tube.
Re: Double Post
I do that when I am hyper about a subject. I hit the POST button with flourishing verve like "Ta Dah, so there!" When I apologize for my action, I call it a "burp. Once I had three "burps." I get so emphatic at times. : )
Re: your reply
HOWEVER, a president has term limitations, and career congressmen do not. This is a very significant difference.
For instance, John Kerry, the absentee senator, the pro-Maoist, the global concensus seeker, served rather stealthfully in Congress for 20 years. Kerry emerged a presidential candidate undoubtedly hoping most Viet Nam Vets were either dead or suffering Altheimers.
"The real reason is globalism. The borders must be erased."
You got that right!!
