righwing mama, I mean no disrespect but how can you stand to live in California? It just has to drive you crazy! When was the last time California had a conservative leader and what would have to happen for it to change. Do you think there could really think anything that could change California except for an act of God? God bless and shall he protect you from all evil

Actually, the biggest shocker of the day was that "Scottish Law" Arlen towed the party line! Never expected that one, even though he was pretty good in the hearings, as lame as they were. I bet he's saving it up for the next nominee. Spector's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get!

I should've been more specific - Red States in the South that are solidly Republican - Iowa and Nevada do not fit that description.

I have lived here all my life. Contrary to what you read the whole state is not liberal. The most populated areas are very liberal so they win the elections. I just ignore most of the state politics and concentrate on what's going on in Washington.
