Good to have you and your computer back in action, Howlin!

I'm going on the record now by saying that President Bush will surprise us all w/his next nominee.

I got the same. Not familiar with her, but the fact she is considered "radioactive" by democrats must be considered a plus.

I took it and got Estrada (after marking all the Hispanic/diversity questions as "not important").

Absolutely. Voting for Roberts was a smart move. The ones who didn't vote for the guy they all admit was the most brilliant witness to ever testify before the judiciary committee cannot justify their no vote to the rest of the country. To their uber-liberal interest groups, yes, but not the country. Now the group has some cover, as you mention, but the ones who voted against him really don't, although they'll say anything to get around their votes, even going so far as to vote against the next person for not being as brilliant as Roberts (the guy they voted against).

It's going to be very ugly no matter what happens. If Bush doesn't nominate an obvious conservative, he's going to feel the heat, and if he does, the confirmation battle will be intense.

On C-span, they had them in alphabetical order listed on the left side of the screen.

Someone will have it in print on the 'net, soon I hope.

I noticed that; when did they start putting up the vote talleys?

The first talley I saw was 33 Aye - 17 No. They did not do a running total. They updated it every five votes after that.

Regards,

TS

This is who my answers profiled. 32% of the 1300+ survey takers, so far, chose Priscilla Owen.

JUDGE PRISCILLA OWEN
JUDGE PRISCILLA OWEN U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit, appointed by
G.W. Bush, 50 years old Filibustered by Senate Democrats when nominated to
the federal bench, Owen is a former Texas
Supreme Court judge regarded as "far right
wing" by liberals. But who isn't! A
member of the Federalist Society. (Psycho
music) Sen. Reid has already said he would
filibuster her nomination to SCOTUS.

justices usually take two [oaths]-- once pledging to uphold the Constitution, . . .

You say this Marxist took an oath to "uphold the Constitution"??????? Nothing is sacred anymore. What a joke travesty. The Senate needs to stop spitting on the Constitution.
