Here is a test linked to NR online of who your "ideal" nominee is. I took it and came up with Owens.

Judge Roberts was just confirmed by a vote of 78 - 22.

(Aw c'mon Mod - doesn't the actual confirmation really deserve its own thread?

The USSC term starts next week.

Hitting the ground at a dead run. I'm sure Roberts is up to the task.

Projected talking point:

"We weren't obtructionists, we were bipartisan -- look, more Democrats voted for Roberts than against him. The Republicans are the ones in lockstep, not us..."

Right.........Kerry was late and voted NO. Typical in both actions. You have no doubt noticed that he always votes like Kennedy does.

Amen to that.

We have a gift beyond our wildest dreams!! John Roberts has not only became a Supreme Court Justice but THE CHIEF JUSTICE.

Could the President have made a better choice? The fact that he has been confirmed says "No". I'm sure Mr. Reinquest is very happy that his "student" has assumed the leadership of the Court. May Chief Justice Roberts be wise!!
