Uhhhh..where is Dubya on the exhorbitant federal spending? W has been messing with us...not vetoing any of these huge spending bills. I am incensed at the GOP acting like liberal Demo'Rats in their spending of taxpayers $$. That's not what we vote for the GOP. Time to clean house! Uh...dood...don't you think they know they can get away with it because the alternative is the...uh..Democratic party??..you going to vote dem because of the Pubs spending??..prob not...

If the force was 1,500, and 400 were fake...that measn, that the # on patrolat any given time was about 50% less than it should be..everyoe who wore at least Sgts stripes had to know.

...while the President was stepping up to the mike and taking the ultimate blame for the FEMA response in NOLA... He didn't "take the blame". He took responsibility for it. Another reason to support Bush.

Has this FBI report been confirmed? Is Tony Snow the only one who has mentioned it? This is almost too bad to be true. If NO had 400 non-existent cops on the books, it is a HUGE story, and would totally change the dynamics of the katrina foul-up story. That's 400 cops who could have/should have been maintaining order and helping in the rescue effort.

Excellent point - Farrakan claimed that he had insider information from a key source about the levees having been blown up to flood the Ninth Ward.
For once Farrikan may be correct? - i.e. too little storm damage, so N.O. had to have other "assistance" in order to gain federal dollars??

He was excusing Broussard of all people. We knew that from how he let him bloviate... but at least he asked the questions.

"as Katrina approached they hatched a media savvy plan...blame George W. Bush and his FEMA. Yeah, thats the ticket...the media will run around in circles pointing finger at W and no one will 'notice' why things really went to hell."Folks, back when things started falling apart with Katrina's response, I always said two things--one, follow the money; and two, if they're trying to make you look somewhere else, look where they don't want you to look. This was the classic "divert the attention" operation--and Pennsylvania Mom has it nailed! Count on still more to come to light--Louisiana is Dem corruption on steroids!

The mayor was brought in to route the corruption. "Brought in" by whom? Was he not elected? Can you draw us a map of the power structure you're implying must exist? Are you saying the Republicans "brought him in"? The Blanco/Landrieu Democrat machine in Baton Rouge? Some other outside force - Colombian or Mexican Drug Lords?

I want to know who was collecting the paychecks for all those fake cops.

Yall might remember La history. It took years to get The Silver Zipper, our gov. And Carlos Marcello, our powerful Mafia Don was repeatedly let off when prosecuted here.
We have two prior INsurance commisioners go to jail{one of them Campbell Brown's dad}. Corruption in government is a way of life here. I wouldn't hold my breath that they can get a jury to convict these guys. Even Texas had to put Carlos Marcello away.
I think alot of the corruption is mob influenced with the political class taking the leavings.
