Amen. What a beautiful prayer, ExcursionGuy. Thank you for posting it here.
Good morning, Mayor. Thank you as always for Military Monday. We know we're in good hands. :)
Thanks for the graphic, Dubya. Brave soldiers then, brave soldiers now. We are grateful for those who server our country so that we don't have to live in tyranny.
Hi there Billie. Hope your weekend went decently.
Are you still in Waco, Meg?
Around here, locals pronounce "Almonds" as "Amonds"
Would that be as in "Ah-monds" or like "Al but without the "l"? I pronounce it "Allmonds" (awlmonds) :)
Hi, Dolly - it's still awfully hot here - high 90's and even 100 degrees - crazy weather doesn't know it's autumn yet.
Looks like it was scanned from a newspaper, and the byte size is huge, like so many scanner pics.
Hi, PaL - haven't seen you in a while - have a good vacation? ;)
Nope. "A-monds" Those machines shake the L right out of 'em.
Interesting article in our paper this am regarding harvest time...
Gulp! I was thinking Amy's Place would be a great place for a picnic! :)
Over 400 Louisiana Guard Soldiers Re-enlist
~ Snip ~
CAMP TIGERLAND, Iraq, July 27, 2005 On July 20, in a chapel in Baghdad, voices rang out together, not in a song of praise, but in commitment. More than 400 National Guard soldiers of the 256th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division raised their right hands and swore to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.
More significant than the number of soldiers who simultaneously extended their service to the military is that these National Guard soldiers did so in a combat zone.

The National Guard is every bit as dedicated as full time active military members.
"Yo, Billie!!
We'uns just happen to be near yew in West Texas, and would be glad to stay in yore Guest House whilst we crash attend yore Finest Family picnic!"
"Thankee very kindly, ma'am!"
Picnic?
Coolbeans!
You've got that right. :) A lot of people think that National Guard are not as prepared for war as active duty. Tank's unit proved that wrong in Iraq. They were serving along side an active duty unit. The NG unit got better equipment, more runs, and more recognition because they were able to perform better than the active duty guys.
Just one example that just because they only train one weekend a month doesn't mean that they don't know what they are doing.
Very nice pic, Dolly!
Hi PAL. :-)
