Thanks for the initial heads up to the CSPAN broadcast on that other thread.

I echo that CSPAN blond lady's conclusion to the Goldstar speeches. Tough to watch, stuck with it through all the Goldstar member's speeches, the least I could've done for their sacrifices. Wish I could've been there in person to applaud.

I need some emotional relief from watching those testimonies from the parents of the brave men who have given their lives to protect us.

I might even have to go out have a few drinks as soon as my tear ducts dry up.

p.s. Kuddos to kristinn, did he set this whole thing up?

p.p.s It looks likes kristinn has put on a little weight since the 2004 inaugural, is he OK? Hope so.

I just got home from the rally - had to leave early but at least I was able to go. Big turnout. Had to drive right past 'camp casey' to get there (eyes rolling). Lots of weirdos there, man oh man the folks supporting the troops are a much better looking bunch! The Gold Star families kept making made me bawl (and I had no tissues). I felt very proud to stand there with these wonderful Americans.
