I stayed at an apartment in Ayer Mass years ago. One night a reeking smell began to permeate the place. Called the manager thinking sewage problem. Turned out to be the Asian neighbors cooking some ungodly delicacy downstairs. Urp. LOL.

I've smelled (and seen) a lake turning over.What does that mean?
That's when the water near the surface becomes colder than the water near the bottom. The cold water sinks, forcing the warm water back up. It's a yearly occurance up here in the land of cheese and beer, and while it can get ugly on smaller lakes, it rarely gets real ugly on something like Lake Michigan (which is a good thing; that's where I get my water).
