I agree with your pics. I was born and raised in New Orleans but have lived in Houston since adulthood so I have seen both sides of the coin. However, I have to tell a story that happened this afternoon on the local Houston TV stations.

The mayor of Houston, Bill White, claims to be a Dem but acts like a Repub.

Press conference this afternoon:

He was being asked questions by the dimbulb reporters. A reporter said he had a question for FEMA. The mayor stepped away from the mic so that the FEMA rep could step up to the mic. The reporter asked the question, ( which I couldn't hear, ) and the mayor jumped in front of the mic and went into the following tirade: ( This won't be verbatim but accurate. )

"Wait a minute! Wait a minute! I want to get one thing straight right now! FEMA is not responsible for this operation! WE are! FEMA is only one of our resources and they are doing a great job! But this job is our responsibility and if it fails it will be our fault, not FEMA's! We are not going to blame anyone else if we fail!"

With that he stepped away from the mic and let the FEMA guy talk. The mayor was beet red. I didn't like him just because he's a dim but he gained my respect today.

I silently asked myself the question: I wonder if the governor of an adjoining state and the mayor of its most famous city felt it when the mayor of Houston stuck the knife in, twisted it, jiggled it around, stomped all over their heads then kicked them right in the rear end with pointy, steel-toed boots?

I remember hearing this song on a Nash Bridges episode. A good tune from one of his more recent albums.

I'd rather be The Rock (cause I look more like him and all) than Vin Diesel. Although, either one isn't bad for me. LOL!

She is just getting so beautiful! And she looks like she is a good kitty, too!

Oh, rats--I meant to go in the other room and watch some Rita coverage. Silly Shep--he was better when he stayed in the studio!

I am so glad it pleased her. Tx had seen it and wished she could have it so......... You KNOW she'll be proud to wear it! :o)

Did you and GSB get to go somewhere together tonight? How's the weather in the Dallas area?

I could listen to Louis Prima and Keely Smith alla time.

Don't do that. It would be like WABC 77's Top Ten and I'd burn out. Scatter that Gold and I'll go prospecting.

Thanks!
