NOthing like piece of metal flying by you at 70MPH to give you a dose of reality:) LOL
If your cable system has TXCN, the Texas state cable news network, they have a live feed of KHOU-TV in Houston for those in the area that want to hear localized info but have fled.
The rain looks like it's not quite as far as Beltway 8 yet, but that's now only 15 miles east of me.
I'm currently between bands. It's dusk but there's about a 5 mile separation between bands, and it's currently mostly clear directly above. Looks like that will change permanently in about 20 minutes.
At least as far as the Dog Gone family, it's nearly about to be showtime. Or at least the pregame show.
You're welcome Tom. Mine's always handy too. I've found it to be a great perspective focuser a couple times.
Just lost the live feed for KPLC. Windows media player reported server not online. Things were getting bad there just before it cut out - lots of confusion in the newsroom. Praying for all those in the path of this storm.
The best way to deal with looters is to apply the Barney Fife principle. NIP IT! NIP IT! NIP IT! (in the bud)
Seriously, I hope Texas will live up to its reputation and SHOOT looters on sight. They only need to shoot the first few, and that will act as a deterrent for any wannabes.
Electrical poles falling in Houston...
I rarely endure him. I did this time because O'R took issue with him. I can't stand Weasley because he's such the partisan hack.
I was watching online per the link on this thread, but thank you for the info. I will switch back to Houston's feed. (o:
Click on a thread in the KEYWORD: RITA and then post.
You are now on the Hurricane Rita Live thread. Is that what you want?
For those who turned of BOR he blasted Clark for appearing with CS. Asked if he had any idea of the things she has said.
were those the people sitting on the cargo net floor?
I cannot begin to express how much easier and more delightful my life became when I got rid of the carpet and installed Pergo. Not even hardwoods! But great looking. The pets HATE it! Yippee! And little accidents clean up like magic.
""I'll tell you what's really annoying with these reporters in these storms and it's there use of the word "literal." ""
They are using the word literal to let us know it's not the usual lying hyperbole they are used too.
I don't think you can post to a keyword - go into news/activism and post from there and add the keywords later.
Where are you watching, Karl?
That only works if the media publicizes it.
On the other hand, we haven't had a good 'looter season' in TX for a while.
The three refineries at Port Arthur are Motiva (essentially Shell), Premcor (part of Valero now), and Total. All three are big, but the Motiva is the biggest by a small amount. Exxon has refineries at Baytown and Beaumont, and they are both huge. Two other big ones in Lake Charles are in danger. One is a ConocoPhillips refinery and the other is Citgo. With four refineries down from Katrina, the loss of any of the ones in Rita's path will be a big problem.
Bill
I am confused - there was the crash and burn incident. Then, upthead a report that half a bus of of folks died on an intact bus.
Their stream is now down.
