Hurricane Rita Live Thread, Part VI
NHC - NOAA ^ | 23 September 2005 | NHC - NOAA

Posted on 09/23/2005 9:39:06 AM PDT by NautiNurse

Dangerous Hurricane Rita is expected to make landfall in the northeast Gulf of Mexico within 24 hours. Tornados have spawned in Louisiana. Water is filling the Ninth Ward of New Orleans again. A bus carrying elderly evacuees was gutted by fire this morning outside Dallas, with multiple fatalities. Television crews have positioned their hurricane reporters throughout the region to attain maximum drama effects. Whoooooa.

But isn't it great! Tell me - how do you handle the dog hair on the sheets? I really hate it. Love my dog but really wish he didn't shed.

Chill. It wasn't my info. I didn't hear the caller. You asked where the info came from and I told you.

Posting bulls*it - "I think I heard", and "somebody said" needs to be somewhere else on the board.

Do not recall seeing you on the 'cane threads. They are good and helpful, because they are factual.

I'm positive this isn't the last GOM hurricane of the year. The next system may have eyes on the gulf as well. Hopefully we are done with the biggest.

I suggest that the Judiciary nominating committee that voted on Roberts be sent to Texas ASAP.

They have enough hot air to blow the damn thing all the way to the Arctic Circle.

That was too good not to repeat! And worth a try! ROFL!

Now we can start this storm.

I could insert a comment here about our local politicians, but...

I'll save it for another time. :-)

The only time they are allowed in bed with me is when they are all so scared that they are shaking (or ill). So it really isn't an ongoing problem. I just change the sheets after a big storm lol.

The rugs on the other hand........... I'm thinking about going to all hardwood flooring.

I'm going offline and down for awhile. Just got a power surge and we're probably about to lose the electricity. If my phone line holds, I should be able to dial up later on battery.

Remember the Alamo!

Philippe just bombed out, probably due largely to the cooler waters in the Atlantic as compared to the Gulf of Mexico. Pity, I was hoping it was heading my way, but not this one....

P.S.: I live in severe-weather adverse Delaware...
