I note that the headline by the Associated Press ("Expected Vatican Ban Roils American Church") indicates that the writer/AP considers the decision by the Vatican as "roil(ing)" the "American Church" and yet overlooks that the "American Church" is not distinct from the Vatican as to Catholics and Catholicism...and note that existing homosexuals currently in the Priesthood threaten "to leave" the Chuch if and when this instruction takes effect. My thoughts about this is that AP is working to defend a cultural insistence while attempting to marginalize the Vatican as separate and apart from something AP calls "the American Church," as if there is no community of Catholics worldwide, all in tune with the Vatican. If there is any separation or distinction between continents among Catholics, those are cultural differences from country/culture to another, but among Catholics, there's one Vatican as leader of all, as "Church" goes.

I support the instruction by the Vatican (this article) and consider it long overdue in honesty and frankness about the issue in relationship to the priesthood. And note that the insistence and threats by those making them (seems to include the AP based upon their headline) about this issue are spawned by cultural expectations, in defiance of Christianity itself, as also the Vatican.

The question is: Unless the applicant is caught red-handed
(brown-p*******), how will they tell? Seems that there are
two cases:

1. Homosexuality is truly gene-determined, in which case they will have to wait until the faggot gene is identified and then require a blood test.

2. Otherwise. In this case they will have to devise some
kind of a test based on behavior. One idea would be to hire
prostitutes, and expose the applicants to naked women. Or
hire male prostitutes with the same idea.

Maybe there are other ideas.

Ok, for clarity here, does this ban men who've had sex with men from entering the priesthood, or does it ban virginal men who are attracted to men instead of women from entering the priesthood? I can see a world of difference between the two.

The media deMANded something be done in response to the sex abuse crisis--which, when it first erupted, Bishop Gregory, then-President of the USCCB, accidentally blurted out: what we have here is a homosexual problem. (paraphrasing)--and now that something IS being done, that same media is crying out against the Big Bad Catholic Church. again.

Because, you see, while the media wanted something done, it didn't want THIS. It wanted the Church to become more heterodox, not less. More liberal, more progressive. Let priests marry, yes, and let women be ordained. And let gay priests marry each other. Let everyone have sex with whoever they want so that they won't target youth, there that's the ticket. Because obviously this celibacy rule is unnatural, and IT is causing the pederasty problem. So says the MSM.

This is going to be a difficult time, and homosexuality is going to be hard to root out of the seminaries. I have read accounts of pederast priests stating, in all sincerity, that they consider themselves celibate still, because they are not having intercourse with women. So if they can convince themselves of lies like this, it will be difficult to detect them and get them out.

As for the priests threatening to leave because they don't like the medicine....in all charity and with all due respect...I hope they leave and quickly.

This is great news! Next the Vatican needs to do something about the Biblical criticism being taught in Catholic seminaries and schools (and churches). And I'm hoping evolution is also on the "most wanted" list, but I'm willing to be patient. At least some progress is being made.
