Extremely dangerous Category 5 Hurricane Rita continues to threaten the Greater Houston Metropolitan area. The forecast track has shifted slightly to the northeast, increasing the risk to Southwest Louisiana, and a significant portion of the oil and gas operations in the Gulf of Mexico. Texas Governor Perry is urging all coastal residents between Beaumont and Corpus Christi to evacuate as soon as possible.

Yep I know...but swarms over a short time are unusual.
I'm not sure that's the picture fanfan is talking about; is it a composite? In my kitchen?
Explain that to civilians, please:)
I love the Internet. Why didn't I think of that? Duh me!
......Cats and dogs sleeping together......
Getting stronger...correct?

According to Fox News, yes. NO will be under more water and the highways out of Houston are clogged. Absolutely nothing has gone well. One big mess. Shep will soon be on. Hysterics to commence. Geraldo will be on the clogged highway holding a screaming baby. Seepage in the levees according to Gibson. OH MY!!
sigh
Did you guys feel those swarms in AZ?
4.9 according to USGS... with a swarm of aftershocks. Californians just hate being left out.

This isn't our year, that's for sure.
She is a bigger storm, so winds won't quite be as high as in a tight storm with the same pressure.
She looks better than earlier today on sat.
45 and 10 are already starting to clear.
The big difference between this and the SuperDome is that there is STILL more than 30 hours before this thing is going to hit.
We'll get them out.
3. Get a map.
You're very wrong, and you're shouting about it. Propane is not safe indoors.
I did a lot of picking up in my yard this morning but I still have quite a few flower pots to put in the garage. Does anyone know how hot it is out there (Houston)? Yesterday afternoon it got up to 101. I think I'll just wait until the rain starts to do any more outside work.
Not in Scottsdale (Phoenix metro)...
Since NO is already empty.... wouldn't it be best if this thing just turned north and finished the job up there ?? :)
