WHEN HELPING YOU HELPS ME: BEHIND THE LEFT'S MASK OF CARING
Orthodoxy Today ^ | by Murray Soupcoff,

When will the "caring" activists of the left ever learn? Never have so few individuals with so many good intentions created so much misery for so many people whom they wanted to help. As the social-engineering debacles of the last half century in the United States have demonstrated, carelessness in "caring" for the disadvantaged in our society only leads to a glaringly uncaring result.....

This is a great article. Just one of the little truisms to be found:

they can't let themselves see its true face -- the exploitation of society's disadvantaged classes, by a credentialed elite, to enhance both the economic well being and sense of moral superiority of that elite.

The welfare state is primarily a jobs program for Leftist Democrat activists pretending to be "social" workers

"The masks of love and care obscure this reality so that the public cannot recognize the professionalized interests that manufacture needs in order to rationalize a service economy."

This is a fine article, but I think it's wrong on this count. The majority of the "public" has no trouble seeing the scam. The "caring" garnered enough money and power to not only buy themselves a seat at the political table, but to also gain greater monies and power by allowing itself to be co-opted by a political party that saw the potential voting blocks and power that could be gained by guilting the productive.

The fact is the general productive public became the undeclared enemy to be degraded and taxed at every turn by a beast with an insatiable appetite that used judicial activism from the bench to legislate, undermine, and redefine as a "living document", the protective and power limiting constitution forcing and coercing an ever more alienated productive citizen.

Thus causing the productive citizen to realize that his vote doesn't count, the fed isn't his friend or agent and that the majority opinion has been relegated to charges of racism as the majority has been saddled with a false and unconstitutional "duty" to allow their pockets to be picked and their culture to be killed off for the sake of the minority opinion, the minority culture, and the disadvantaged.

A good post; every true conservative should read it. It has a lot of gems that can be used in a lot of discussions with Dims.

Thanks for this!

So that's why all these leftists get useless degrees in things like Education, Women Studies, Black Studies, Social work, etc. (With apologies to those who earned degrees in these fields back when they meant something.) I always wondered how they expected to get jobs afterwards to pay for their educations.

I guess it's an obvious correlation considering that these disciplines do not require rigorous thought, a precondition to accepting their ideology.

Nope. Murray
