That's a really good graphic.

I saw a better one, but then couldn't find it. It had a little dot for every oil or gas rig or platform. Many more between Lake Charles and Houston, than east or west of there. They extend farther into the Gulf there, and are closer together too.

Dobies are great! I used to have one. Now I have a Min-Pin.

I know that large dogs have a shortened life span. My next dog would be a Mini Pin. Same attitude.

The very real problem, sinkspur, is the logistics of fleeing Houston. By the time you know you really need to do it, you can't.

A true understatement. They (the authorities) are going to have to make some hard decisions in the next 12 hours. It will be interesting to see what types of decisions are made and who they affect.

Many of these engines need the valve lash checked at intervals also.

Yes, the memories- nothing teaches diagnostics better than a small engine-- if everything isn't almost just theoretically perfect, they either run poorly, or don't run a'tall.

You are so right - they are a different breed but act just the same. Mine is about 20 lbs, not as tiny as most.

I just talked to my best friend and her hubby. They are leaving in the morning and going to their son's home near Dallas. They live off Bay Area, and she has health issues. I worry about all of you down there.

If anyone comes north on 59 and need a place, freep mail me.

We've had two Dobies. Last year we rescued a min-Pin and kept him overnight. Their legs are so fragile looking I was scared to death I would step on him and cripple him

(Doesn't that put you on an oil derrick 56 miles offshore?)

Either that or somewhere near Katy, Texas, I-10 and Texas-99, according to my blue state calculator. Of course, hot air coming from Hillary! and Chuck Schumer may cause the calculator to malfunction from time to time, so I can't be sure.

You know... I've seen this sort of statement much since Katrina. But, I disagree somewhat. I was born and raised there. I just don't think you can apply terms of "left" and "right" to Louisiana. In my experience, in Louisiana, there are two kinds of politicians -- always has been-- and that is "those who are crooked" and "those who are out office." Everything you hear Nagin or Blanco or any politician say about ANYTHING is meant strictly for local consumption and strictly to keep their own pockets lined. Others may disagree but, personally, I wouldn't trust any mouth speaking on behalf of the doomed state of Louisiana.

Okay, sink, your post made me think.

And I don't know how to say this any other way than to just say it...........

Anybody on this thread that doesn't have the money to leave, Freepmail me and the money will be in your bank tomorrow.

I don't mean this to be insulting, but we just CANNOT let happen what happened last time -- especially to our FR friends. I don't have a house or any other resources to offer, but I do have CASH! :-)

And yes, I am serious.

Looking at the graphic, she's just now making the move into the Gulf and she already looks like that?
