Michael Schiavo is co-writing a book with author Michael Hirsh to tell his side of the end-of-life case that divided much of the country. Schiavo's wife Terri suffered a brain injury in 1990 that left her in what some doctors called a "persistent vegetative state." She died March 31 after a bitter court battle between her husband and her parents.
Hirsh expects the 280-page book, "Terri: the Truth," to be available just before the first anniversary of Terri's death. Dutton Publishing publicity manager Jean Anne Rose confirmed that the company is publishing the book in March.
Michael Schiavo's decision to remove a feeding tube that kept his brain-damaged wife alive alienated him from her parents, drew a Congressional intervention and even prompted criticism from President Bush.
Hirsh, 62, is a Vietnam veteran and a former Los Angeles television producer who has written three books about the military.
He was building a violin.
I wonder how many pages his "book" will have?

DISCLAIMER AND INFO: I haven't fact ckd this yet but read on a blog that there was a hurricane Theresa this year or next???
Leave it up to you to deliberately insult flaglady just for the opportunity to insult a Christian. Am I supposed to be surprised?
If you stumble across it, I'd like to see it. Otherwise, don't worry about it.
It's interesting, though. There was a notion that was in vogue many years ago, called "The Homicidal Triad". These three criteria were thought to be present in most murderers: bedwetting, setting fires, and cruelty to animals.
I haven't come across this in many years, so it may have been disproven.
For instance, when my mother passed away at 32 (they were married at that point for 5 1/2 years), my father, then 36, donated their wedding bands to her old parish church, a couple hundred miles away, to be melted down for a Golden Chalice to hold communion at mass.
Because my immigrant grandparents rarely traveled, he also returned her body to her parents to be buried at the family cemetery plot. We visited my grandparents and the cemetery several times a year.
The above is the manner in which a good man treats his wife and her parents.
Do you know if the coroner's report mentioned the size of Terri's brain was significantly smaller than it had been due to dehydration?
I believe the coroner said it "was the most severe case of dehydration" he has ever seen. Considering the amount of information available about dehydration and its effect on the brain, I am still surprised at some of his conclusions. Why he didn't consult someone with more expertise in this area is unknown to me.
Did he mention in the report that the dehydration would have significantly dereased the size and weight of her brain in comparision to the size and weight before dehydration?
In my opinion only, I think the Schindlers are grieving over a vase of cement mix. I just can't see Michael doing them any favors such as a proper burial. It was just to take the heat off of him for not letting them know, which got him negative publicity.
Thanks for:

Great blog.
I like the way they say widower Michael Schiavo - he's a widower by his own making.
I don't remember specifically. It is a well known fact anywhere else if he did not.
Michael Schaivo at the very least should have returned her body to them and allowed them to bury it in a Catholic Cemetery. He couldn't even return her ashes to them (this we know is true). And you are right, MS probably didn't even bury her ashes.
I guess it is good for a giggle every time he sees the Schindler's at her 'grave site'.
"I'd believe a priest over faglady47 any day."
Real clever, DykerBabe....oops, pardon the typo..I hate it when that happens, don't you?
I love how so many of you Schiavo supporters are vile and nasty people, while claiming so much sympathy for Terri. So many of you are really nasty, viscious people. You give Christianity a really bad name. Watch out, all that inherent meanness might get you to the opposite place from where you want to go when you die.
If you can find that dehydration has no effect on the brain, please post it.
Read the Coroner's report yourself. I'm not going to do your footwork for you. You figure it out, unless you are incompetent to do so.
Terri's laughing at www.renewamerica.us. Purposeful laughter. Any idea what purposeful means?
Another example of your painful self deception.
Why are you on this thread arguing with me and FV?
Because the truth needs to be heard, and it is not your private thread.
I did read it. Did I insult you somehow?
The answer to the above question is NO. The coroner NEVER mentions the dehydration decreased the size and weight of Terri's brain in comparison to the size and weight of her brain before dehydration, which for me gives his report some credibility problems.
Right. When the brain dehydrates, it painfully pulls away from the all connecting tissue, including the skull and eye tissue. A person with perfect vision subjected to the same treatment could be just as blind as Terri, according to autopsy results.
