Friends,
It is so exciting, we are rapidly putting together the final pieces for our "Support The Troops & Their Mission" national bus tour... the continuation of the "You Don't Speak for Me, Cindy" caravan.
We've worked from early in the morning (KSFO listeners know that I have been pushing this trip on-air starting at 5:00 AM Pacific Time each day) all the way til Midnight or later.
Needless to say we are starting to feel exhausted, but the excitement of what is happening is providing the adrenaline we need to push forward!
Keep watching our website for a lot of updates to our itinerary. You'll see the updates here:
http://www.moveamericaforward.com/index.php/DailyFile/
If you see a city without a location set up yet its because we are finalizing details (working with local activists, radio stations and community leaders on what to do and at what site to do it). We still need more input in terms of good locations to have our rallies/press conferences that has at least some parking.
If you have ideas, please email them to our trip coordinator, Robert Dixon, at: Robert@MoveAmericaForward.org
*IMPORTANT UPDATES: We really need you to come by to our small rallies at each stop to sign the "We Support Our Troops" banner-sheets. We will put all the sheets on display (for the news media and the world to see) in Washington, D.C. at the giant rally on Sunday, September 25th. Then, after the rally is over we will send the sheets to our troops serving in Iraq & Afghanistan.
*SECOND UPDATE: At each rally-stop we will also be making a point to have a very public recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance (in light of the recent court decision which banned the reciting of the Pledge from schools).
Finally, we have still not raised all the money we need to fund the trip. We have about $12,000 left to raise.
So many of you have already contributed, so I feel bad having to ask for support one last time. If you can afford a small additional contribution, great.
If we can get just 25 people to contribute $500 or 120 people to contribute $100 we'll be able to pay for the trip.
I'll also make this offer... I'll put in $500 of my own money and ask that just 24 more people out there match my contribution. Let's get the funding need out of the way so we can focus on finalizing the logistics of this trip!
Contributions can be made online here:
http://www.MoveAmericaForward.org/Contribution
>>> Additional note... we are starting to get some of the news media to take notice of our efforts.
Here's a mention at this TV station from North Carolina (see the last paragraph of the story):

[see the final paragraph]
And see this pickup of our press release at the Sacramento Union newspaper:

Thank you all so much for the tremendous outpouring of support we've received so far. We are going to work night and day these next 3 days to make sure this national tour sends a message all around the world that America stands united behind the men and women serving in Iraq & Afghanistan.
We are going to show those in the anti-war community that they will no longer be allowed to go unchallenged when they do things that undermine the mission our troops are serving in.
And we are going to make sure our troops know that we've got their backs here on the home front.
Now let's go make this event a huge success!
Sincerely,
Melanie Morgan Chair, Move America Forward http://www.MoveAmericaForward.org
P.S. Don't forget we DO need to collect $12,000 still to fund this trip. Since we are a 501c3 non-profit group your contributions ARE tax deductible.
Don't forget my offer... I'll put up $500 of my own money to get us to raise the final $12,000 - I just need 24 other Americans to match my contribution to pay for this trip!
