He will singlehandedly extend the welfare generation, set the groundwork for a victimhood state, in a single speech. I have a feeling he will say goodbye to his conservative base tonight. If he doesn't demand that the Congress repeal - at least - the $24 billion in earmarks in the Transportation Bill, I'm outta here. He can find someone else to support him.

Hi :) Yes, its been a while and it so good to see you. I took the spring and summer off and just spent time pursuing sunny destinations. Got back home about a week before the storm. Timing has never been one of my strong points. LOL

Heh. Comment if you must. Fine. I'll comment pre-emptively.
Sooner or later, our taxes are going up.
I mean tax cuts can and do pay for themselves, but not for all this 200 Billion+ and the Highway Bill, the Pill Bill, NCLB, etc.

Here I am! I am interested to hear what is being planned. Despite many people carping here, I cannot think conservatives really think that we should leave an area the size of Great Britain devastated. Nor should we leave one million people to wander the streets without some sort of help.
I always believed that we ARE our brothr's keeper, in the sense that we should help out when things like this happen.
We rebuilt Europe after WWII, and those people had been our enemies. It seems to me that we should help people in this country even more.

Will you take those arguments somewhere else; they've been debated ad nauseum on this forum.
This thread is for discussion of the president's speech.
