What does that mean? If a person lives in an area prone to flooding, they should have flood insurance or not live there.
I'm beginning to think this President is capable of a lot of things so maybe taking on the environmental community should be next.

Don't be ridiculous; I have always been a staunch supporter of the President, but that does not mean I have to sit idly by and say and do nothing when he makes proposals that are going to further bankrupt the country, my family and my children’s children just so that he can try to get a vocal minority, who hates his guts, to "love" him. As Rush aptly said: "No matter how much you give these people it will NEVER be enough. If President Clinton had said what President Bush did tonight, FR would have caught on fire from the heat that posters would have generated. However, President Bush is a Republican so we are not supposed to say anything, in spite of it’s being a foolish proposal.
Sorry, I can not stand by while the government picks my pocket to rebuild a city built upon shifting mud that sits 18 to 25 feet below sea level and is presently, nearly completely corrupted with filth, poisons and toxins!
In case you do not realize it; the ENTIRE fresh/clean water system throughout the ENTIRE city has been completely ruined. It was nearly entirely flooded with toxic, biological and chemical waste. When the water is pumped out, all those toxins will remain and grow and there is NOTHING that anyone can do about it in order to completely cleanse/restore it apart from completely replacing all of it. That is not my assessment, that is the assessment of someone with a Ph.D. in the field. Are you ready to pay for it because I can not, and that is just the beginning.

Pres. Bush couldn't have picked a better setting for a message of hope. Think of what the evacuees sitting on cots in a shelter must have felt when they saw one of the most beautiful symbols of their city dry and beautiful!

I just read someone else's justification for spending so much money on rebuilding New Orleans. It was something about all the lost tax revenue from every day that goes by without NO in working order.
And I have your best interests at heart. What if you ever have to go before a RAT committee? They will now have proof that you did not pay taxes on/for your employees. I would probably do the same as you. :)
