Thanks but the more I think about it we should drop the "Ruth" just making her name "Darth Bader-Ginsberg."

Dick Thornburgh has a great, great voice. I could listen to him for hours.
He also must go down as one of the most loyal Republicans of my time.
Thornburgh is doing GOOD too.
One saavy approach that GWB may take in timing his next US Sup Ct nominaion (O'Connor's replacement) is to wait a few days until the Judiciary committee votes. Assuming the dimocrats on the committee vote on party lines to reject a non-idealogue like Roberts, then he assumes virtually zero political risk in nominating a real conservative. i.e., the dimocrats are saying they will vote against whomever he sends up anyhow. Why try to placate them?
Love your tag line!
Excellent point.
Good Morning to everyone, or afternoon to those on the east coast!
Anything particularly nasty or wonderful happen at the hearings this morning?
Character trumps color and gender. As a white male, I would follow a black female like Dr. Rice because of the content of her character. Liberals are users, not leaders.
>Do not underestimate the RATs to make a small "statement" on this vote. Expect something like 70-25 with 5 abstains.
True, but the public doesn't care.
Remember what they call the students in Medical School who keep a D average.
"Doctor"
He'll still be CJ.
YES! Lindsay shoved Darth-Bader-Ginsberg right back at the democrats --- Maggief will post his comments as soon as they're available.
Thanks!
My money's still on essentially a party line vote, with a couple of RINO defections. 52-48, maybe 53-47. The Dim activists are just frantic with rage now at their senators' inability to so much as ding Roberts. And I have to admit I'm surprised at their lack of a real fight. They'll have to vote against him to maintain any credibility at all with their base. Later, they'll rewrite history to say that the GOP steamrolled Roberts through the nomination process, trampling all over the rights of the minority party as well as "cherished Senate traditions."
I'll check in and see how the witnesses testify. I'm wondering if the Dims are counting on them to do all the dirty work with the personal attacks and mud flinging.
"We stayed out of Roberts' personal life figuring that the White House would at least be forthcoming about the man's character even though they've given us no requested information. Now that these witnesses have brought up these allegations we must investigate and we'll need more time to do that thoroughly." </Dim spin>
Thanks, and it's the truth, isn't it?
"CatOwner"?
Dogs have owners
Cats have staffs.
(We have two!)
thanks all!
Oooooo. Sounds good. I await them with bated breath.
Lindsey has been spectacular during these hearings.
Thanks for putting this up!
I expect it to be over 40 against on the basis that Judge Roberts declined to answer too many questions, and that the Dims will filibuster. Otherwise, it will weaken any argument they may have to invoke the "extraordinary circumstances" exception and filibuster President Bush's next nominee. But then again, when has a weak argument stopped the Dims?
