LANSING, Mich. A federal judge has declared unconstitutional Michigan's law aimed at banning a procedure that opponents call partial-birth abortion.
In a ruling dated Monday, U.S. District Court Judge Denise Page Hood (search) in Detroit ruled the law places an "undue burden" on women's right to choose an abortion. The parties in the lawsuit learned of the ruling Wednesday.

Monstrous.
What galls me is when the libs make this out to be a "Christian issue."
To a Pagan, the womb is as sacred as the altar in a church, and the birth process is as sacred as High Mass.
Even the Satanists preach "Do not harm animals or small children" as one of the Thirteen Satanic Principles.
Regardless of faith or creed, to harm an innocent, helpless child is the blackest evil. These liberals make even Satanists look like the 700 Club.
"Where can us "right" of center people go to get away from this scourge"
Back to the classroom!! Either learn how to beat them with our minds in the arena of ideas or take back the classrooms and colleges..or BOTH! WE now know the republicans in congress r a bunch of wimps for the most part and a president can only do so much. Same thing for our hold on AM talk radio. The only place we will win this 'battle' is in the arena of 'ideas'..and unfortunately that is in the institutes of higher learning. Just my two cents.
Clinton appointee. Her professional history here.
She's not a lesbian. She's married (to a man) with two children.
Actually, that map proves my basic point. I was wrong on Italy; the law must have changed in the last five years. But the only country on your map with a serious restriction is Ireland. Once you say a woman can have an abortion for "mental health" reasons, that pretty much allows any abortion at any time. And of course, most of those countries, according to the color-coded map, allow abortion on demand.
"...She became the first African American female president of the Detroit Bar Association in 1993 and has also acted as the president of the Association of Black Judges of Michigan"
I'm sorry, she does not look african american to me at all, not that it matters...or does it?
He did mention something about rulings being based on president upon president.
That means today, for example, abortion is not actually covered by Roe vs. Wade. It's changed, and has become birth control on demand. The actual law does not say that. It CAN be overturned because the actual ruling all the other rulings have been based on has become distorted over time.
Hate crimes is another example of president deciding president. The incramentalism corrupts the law. It's been so added to so many times, the equality laws no longer give equal protection for all. There are now protected classes, and that could be ruled as unconstitutional by a strict Constitutionalists judge. The law says EQUAL, not SPECIAL protections, and kinky sex acts aren't covered under civil rights, otherwise, all chosen dysfunctional sex practices must have special protections, too.
That's where school choice comes in. Let parents decide whether they want their kids to grow up as low life social parasites or productive, moral , upright members of society.
To further blow one's mind, the judge is married to a Reverend at United Church of Christ in Detroit. He is also on a few children's committees including SUDDEN INFANT DEATH SYNDROME Alliance Board. What an upsidedown world we live in!

U got an idea there(wink)...although that too is fraught with unmitigated consequences. Oh well..u got to start somewhere.
The stupid "eminent domain" ruling comes down, just as President Bush is picking his first SCOTUS nominee...
Now, while the nominee is being grilled on Capitol Hill, two judges make outrageous and "activist" decisions...
Yep. Now its Pledge of Allegiance and Partial-Birth Abortion. But don't forget last year and the Mass. Supremes with their *enlightened* decision on gay marriage, nor the SF Mayor defying the law nor the weird display of in-your-face *marriages*. They sure haven't forgotten how damaging the decisions of their rogue jurists have been to their political aspirations.
I say let them run wild - they are killing those who appointed them, and will eventually destroy themselves.
I don't know. They Left has infested all of our institutions and begun tearing them down.
When you compare body counts, the Nazis have nothing on the transnational Left.
They can't get away with it through democracy, i.e., the people. They have to do it through the courts and it's dictates. This is where we have to start giving more of our attention. The courts have to become right wing. That way, the people can decide through their chosen representatives in the Houses and Senates rather than through left wing dictatorships.
If Robert's is as bright as he seems to be, the timing of these judicial pronouncements during his confirmation hearings won't go unnoticed and should give him pause about the quality of rulings from lessor benches. He may invite judges just like this to pitch a ball of legal issue to SCOTUS and then knock the previous ruling out of the park. At least I hope so.
They call him a strict constitutionalist. No where in the Constitution does it have "The right to murder the innocent". It does have "The right to life" though.
I'm with you all the way. This whole Katrina hysteria is all part of the Liberal meltdown. It's not going to work. Americans aren't buying the Left's Barbra Streisand. I meet and talk to a lot of people everyday. I'm shocked at how many people are telling me that they have tuned out this whole Katrina fiasco because of the whining and fingerpointing. A lot of these people normally could care less about politics. It might be "lookin' good" to those in the MSM but believe me, Americans are fed up with the crap being spread by the Leftist "media." If they think Crazy Cindy's Circus flopped, wait until they see how this one shakes out.
It's certainly going to make the idea of conservative judges a lot more popular.
Exceptional summation.
It is getting much worse, isn't it?
