If not, Congress will slap them all down with a jurisdiction-stripping law Which could set an extremely dangerous precedent. Think about that type of power in the hands of liberals.

To be honest, I don't know anyone who has fought and died to protect a modified form of our original pledge.

Beg pardon, how is it that taking something from being mandatory (to say the real pledge you must affirm capital G-o-d, [something that isn't "any god" any more than your neighbor coincidentally named Jehovah is a biblical figure] in other words, this is essentailly denying the feeling of Americanism to those who do not follow one of the Abrahamic religions, whereas adding God is taking something deistically neutral and giving an element of spirtuality to it- something that can be done by choice) to optional is losing rights?

I don't understand your comment ... this country was not founded on the Constitution ... it simply describes how men in this country will govern one another ...
And this decision concerns permissible actions by government...based on what is allotted to them by our primary legal document. The one that is used by the Judicial Branch to judge the validity of legislation.

"Under God" doesn't even imply a religion. How does the separation bit even apply?
Won't allow prayer in school and yet they think it is perfectly fine to allow muslims their own prayer rooms? I believe that is someewhere in california.
Stop screwing with this country!!!
The devil considers these guys his fans.

The basis of our being a country indepedent of Great Britain is that we are given by our Creator certain inalienable rights. . .
If we deny this as a LEGAL principle, then we deny the LEGAL basis of our rights.
We can, certainly, found a country based on other philosophies--for example, on a Darwinian struggle of the survival of the fittest.
But we have chosen to say that all men are 'created' equal, this is the basis of their equality,
so that is what we have as a LEGAL basis of our rights.
Go ahead and overturn that, and then enjoy trying to find another basis for 'equality' of all men (we are inherently NOT equal in any material sense)

I love FR it is a ray of light in a state that has lost its mind.
Someone stated early that 6.7 million Liberals voted for Kerry in 2004 so I guess that makes me right 6.7 million times when I say there is a freak show going on there.
LA? a rat hole that claims it is part of Mexico.
San FranFreakshow speaks for itself.
The Cal. border with Mexico is an open door and Cal. politicians refuse to lift a finger to stop it.
Home of the 9th Circuit Court which is by far the worst offender of the Constitution and supporter of every wacko Liberal desire that appears before them, judicial activism at its worst.
You name it, if it is on the Liberal agenda it started in Cal.
May we find more common ground on a future thread.

have you ever been to Calif?......most of the people here outside of LA and SF are some of the finest folk around.....and north of SF and the central valley look like any other state with blue collar workers and good Christian folk......bashing the state in total shows either a jealousy or igorance......you choose
To: nov7freedomday
Why don't they just find a judge to rule that America itself is un-Constitutional.

I'm sure they're fine people there, the cities and the politics bring the state down, the rest suffer. How's that?
