IF you speak to an actual person, ask who's in charge today?

"As much as I dislike the ACLU, there is no legal way to bar them from their activities."

How about suing them? Take a page from their playbook and sue them in every court in every state until they go bankrupt defending themselves.

Just a thought.

Back to the original topic: As I read it, the judge basically said Newdow fulfilled the requirements for bumping his suit back to the SCOTUS by getting two families, who HAVE legal custody of their kids, to join in the suit. IIRC, the SCOTUS threw Newdow's case out because he didn't have custody of his daughter and thus had no legal standing to bring the suit. He sidestepped that and this judge, required to follow precedent set by the Ninth Circus out in KaleeforneeDUH, is letting it go back up.

Nothing major here, just getting Newdow's case back to teh SCOTUS. If I were a betting man, I would say the SCOTUS will either throw it out or rule against Newdow. I doubt they will refuse to hear it, thus allowing the Ninth Circus ruling to stand and I seriously doubt they want to deal with the backlash of saying the Pledge is unconstitutional. I could be wrong and with these bozos, you never know, but I don't think they want to touch it right now.

I suspect Roberts will get on the court and they will hear the case before O'Conner's replacement gets hearings. If they were to hear it and strike down the Pledge BEFORE O'Conner's replacement, the dims would have a much tougher time with opposition to a staunch conservative. People would be calling for impeachment of judges and the libs would be vilified like never before.

Just my thoughts.

This is why my wife and I didn't move to AZ, NV, or ID like other Mexifornians who fled the state.

Indiana may not be perfect but at least we still have a right to believe in God and America.

This is only the beginning for Mexifornia's atheists. I hope the other western states can shake free of the 9th Circus.

The following list of Democratic "values" were reported by freepers w6ai5q37b and watchdog_writer (Feb. 3, 2005):

11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)
13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.
15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States. One down two to go.
16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
18. Gain control of all student newspapers.
19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.
21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.
24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."
27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state
29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.
40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

I have no idea. You'd have to ask the ACLU. I'm sure they have such a list. I'm equally sure that they're not going to give it to you. If, however, you are a marketing firm, you might be able to buy it.

The ACLU doesn't really need "donors". They make a living on "civil rights" cases for which they are paid by the federal government via USC Section 1988. Our tax dollars are used against us by the ACLU.

Hey JRBC! How are ya?

Check this.....
Amendment I - Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

See the part about the 'prohibiting the free exercise thereof'? Prohibiting prayer in schools or ANYWHERE is a blatant violation of the 1st.

Like another freeper said:
We should give our Constitution to the Iraqis, we aren't using it anymore. :-(

1954 I believe -the same year Congress provided the prayer
room with it's decidedly Christian images displayed in the
stained glass window. whatever the motivation it(under God)
does quite nicely tie the Pledge to the National Anthem, and to the national motto-and to that beautiful
flag folding ceremony used at some of our embassies, and at
the Air Force Academy ( or it was prior to the recent false
charges brought against Gen.Weida.)
