:-) I was watching Special Report last night and just had to laugh at the silliness that was emanating from both Mort and Mara. Simply because Roberts stated that precedent plays an important part of the SJC's function does not mean that a case can't be overturned.
And Mort went beyond silly when he argued that Roberts' comments about what rights to privacy there are may make liberals feel good and conservatives angry.
Really? I think that it's more likely that a conservative wants the privacy to make his or her own decisions and live with the full consequences. Instead of privacy being used as though it were a Victorian age euphemism for abortion.
I like Mara and Mort, even though I disagree with them on a lot. This is one point where I just had to shake my head.

My boss told me saw on FNF this morning them showing some Senator doing a CROSSWORD PUZZLE during the hearing.
Who was it?

Coburn of Oklahoma.
I think if he was doing the crossword during Biden's questioning it was justified.

I did not see that part of F&F but I did see ED say she was listening to it on the radio and she she said Biden was rude and Kohl just read questions from a sheet of paper that did not make sense given the prior answer. She wondered what their constituents must think.

Judge Robert's poise and intellect are more than sufficient to cope with the inquisitors. As they press him, his talents become ever more evident. Informed observers of these deliberations can only pity the Democrats for their shallow and narrow agenda. Let's hope for lengthy sessions to allow them to completely embarrass these hacks. Roberts is a rock!

Roberts is Ward Cleaver being lectured by an idiotic cadre of Eddie Haskells. Where's Miss Landers when you need her? Did Uncle Ted drown her too?
